Semi‐analytical solution for the stability of deep vertical shaft considering time‐dependent rock‐structure interaction

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
A novel cavity contraction solution and multilayer shaft wall model were developed to analyze deep shaft stability, considering rock viscosity, support structures, and water pressure, with successful validation through a Hulusu Coal Mine case study.

Fracture evolution of a thick soft protection layer and the water inrush mechanism in overburden under longwall mining

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
Through shear–tensile creep tests and viscoelastic modeling, the fracture evolution of thick soft protective layers is clarified. Results show thickness‐dependent rheological failure modes that govern four types of roof water inrush, providing a mechanism‐based framework for hazard prediction and control. Abstract In the Jurassic coal‐bearing strata of

Characteristics of Non-Allophanic Andisols derived from Low Activity Clay Regoliths in Nilgiri Hills (Southern India) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
19International audienceLow activity clay soils on old planation surfaces of the tropics are generally considered as stable end points of soil formation. It is therefore surprising to find Andosols on them. We characterised the properties of six profiles

Optical Kerr Gating as a Strategy for Noise Reduction in Femtosecond Stimulated Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
We report an experimental approach, where an Optical Kerr gate is incorporated with Femtosecond Stimulated Raman Spectrometry (FSRS). The gate functions as a temporal filter that preferentially suppresses the FSRS inherent background. FSRS spectra are reported with the Kerr‐gated methodology with significantly improved SNR compared to the conventional ...

Mode‐Locked Pulse Generation in Plasmonic Lattices

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
The plasmonic superlattices overlaid with optically pumped organic molecules produce multimode lasing due to mid‐range radiative coupling (MR‐RC, lambda) and long‐range radiative coupling (LR‐RC, 10 lambda). Right: The mode locking emerges spontaneously due to the shared excited state molecular populations which may emit photons to various different ...

Modulation of the Stress Granule Component Carhsp1 Mitigates Disease‐Associated Deficits in Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 3 Mouse Models

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a polyglutamine (polyQ) neurogenerative disorder that results from CAG trinucleotide repeat expansions in the ATXN3 gene, leading to toxic protein aggregate formation and cellular pathway dysfunction.
