Competitive sorption of molybdate and phosphate in Andisols [PDF]
Abstract We have examined the effects of both pH and phosphate concentrations on molyb-date sorption by four Chilean Andisols with varying chemical properties. For both anions adsorption decreased with an increase in soil pH and also with organic matter content in the soils. In general, more phosphate than molybdate was sorbed by the soils.

Aluminum dynamics in nitrogen‐saturated Andisols in Tokyo
Abstract The debate over whether forests around the Tokyo metropolitan area are nitrogen (N) saturation persists, as atmospheric N deposition in throughfall has decreased. This decrease is evidenced by a notable decline in samples collected in the 1990s (especially 1991–1992 and 1995).

Effect of humic acid on the growth and yield of two maize (Zea mays L.) cultivars on andisol
One way to improve maize (Zea mays L.) production is through land extension using Andisol land. However, andisol soil has phosphate (P) fixation problem due to the high amorphous material. Hence, the use of organic material in the form of humic acid that

Five decades of hand‐feel soil texture estimation: Accuracy, challenges, and improvements
Abstract Soil texture refers to the proportion of fine soil particles with diameters less than 2 mm, classified into particle size categories that define the soil texture class. Hand‐feel estimation in the field is widely used by soil scientists and technicians during pedological surveys to characterize soil horizons.
