The essential differences in microbial and chemical components of musk of different qualities secreted by captive male forest musk deer (Moschus berezovskii). [PDF]
Next‐generation sequencing and gas chromatography‐mass spectrometry were used to explore the essential differences between different quality of musk in microbial and chemical compositions. The results indicate that 14 taxa at the genus level and six compounds were identified to specifically distinguish DM and MM groups under the LEfSe analysis and OPLS‐

The nuclear receptor, Constitutive Androstane Receptor (CAR/NR1i3) is extensively known for its detoxification function in the liver. We have identified the role of CAR in regulating androgen levels and regulating testis function.

Biomarker Records of Environmental Shifts on the Labrador Shelf During the Holocene
Abstract The ultimate demise of the Laurentide Ice Sheet (LIS) and the preceding and succeeding oceanographic changes along the western Labrador Sea offer insights critically important to improve climate predictions of expected future climate warming and further melting of the Greenland ice cap.

Reconstructions of sea‐surface conditions during the Holocene were achieved using three sediment cores from northeastern Baffin Bay (GeoB19948‐3 and GeoB19927‐3) and the Labrador Sea (GeoB19905‐1) along a north–south transect based on sea‐ice IP25 and open‐water phytoplankton biomarkers (brassicasterol, dinosterol and HBI III).

Abstract During the past four decades significant decrease in Arctic sea ice and a dramatic ice mass loss of the Greenland Ice Sheet (GIS) has been coincident with global warming and an increase in atmospheric CO2. In Northeast Greenland significant mass loss from the outlet glaciers Nioghalvfjerdsbræ (79NG) and Zachariæ Isstrøm (ZI) and intensive ...

Abstract To evaluate the present sea ice changes in a longer‐term perspective, the knowledge of sea ice variability on preindustrial and geological time scales is essential. For the interpretation of proxy reconstructions it is necessary to understand the recent signals of different sea ice proxies from various regions.

Rationale The misuse of 7‐oxo‐DHEA (3β‐hydroxyandrost‐5‐ene‐7,17‐dione) is prohibited according to the World Anti‐Doping Agency (WADA) code. Nevertheless, it is easily available as a dietary supplement and from black market sources. In two recent doping control samples, significant amounts of its main metabolite 7β‐OH‐DHEA were identified ...

Xenobiotics induce the transcription of cytochromes P450 (CYPs) 2B and 3A through the constitutive androstane receptor (CAR; NR1I3) and pregnane X receptor (PXR; NR1I2), respectively.

Transcriptional Regulation of CYP2C9 Gene
Although cytochrome P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) is a major CYP expressed in the adult human liver, its mechanism of regulation is poorly known. In previous work, we have shown that CYP2C9is inducible in primary human hepatocytes by xenobiotics including ...
