Studies on respiratory humidity. II. Humidity in anesthetic circuits and water loss via anesthesia systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1961
Through the use of an automatic photo tube dew-point hygrometer, the author succeeded in measuring dew point of gas flows continuously in anesthetic circuits.

Emprego da levomepromazina no bloqueio da arritmia induzida pela adrenalina em cães anestesiados pelo Sevoflurano The use of levomepromazine to blokade the arrhythmia induced by the epinephrine in dogs anesthetized with Sevoflurane

open access: yes, 1988
Compared with the routinely used 'semi-closed breathing systems' the 'Closed Circuit System' seemed to offer several advantages. Investigations were made to evaluate the potendal advantages of closed circuit anesthesia in a general hospital in The ...

Artifact‐Minimizing Ultrathin Transparent Electrodes Fabricated via iCVD for In Vivo Optogenetic Stimulation and Neural Signal Monitoring of Primary Visual Cortex

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present ultrathin flexible transparent electrodes through iCVD‐enabled molecular control of 10 nm gold films on poly(dimethylaminomethylstyrene). In vivo validation demonstrated photoelectric artifact reduction vs. opaque electrodes and preservation of natural neural dynamics.

The touch and zap method for in vivo whole-cell patch recording of intrinsic and visual responses of cortical neurons and Glial cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Whole-cell patch recording is an essential tool for quantitatively establishing the biophysics of brain function, particularly in vivo. This method is of particular interest for studying the functional roles of cortical glial cells in the intact brain ...

MXene/PEDOT Functional Coatings on Flexible Microelectrode Arrays for Multianalyte In Vivo Neurochemical Sensing and Electrophysiology

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A MXene/PEDOT coating enables multimodal functionality and dual‐analyte detection of dopamine and serotonin in flexible microelectrode arrays while enhancing electrophysiological recording quality. The anti‐fouling, low‐impedance interface overcomes key limitations of conventional coatings, providing a robust and versatile platform to investigate the ...

Self‐Healing and Stretchable Synaptic Transistor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐healing stretchable synaptic transistor (3S‐T) is realized using a p‐PVDF‐HFP‐DBP/PDMS‐MPU‐IU bilayer as gate insulator, where dipole‐dipole interaction enhances polarization to achieve a large memory window. Leveraging its neuronal biomimicry, the synaptic transistor demonstrates electrically compatibility with the biological brain. Furthermore,

Monosynaptic connections between pairs of spiny stellate cells in layer 4 and pyramidal cells in layer 5A indicate that lemniscal and paralemniscal afferent pathways converge in the infragranular somatosensory cortex. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Monosynaptic interlaminar connections between spiny stellate cells in layer 4 (L4), the main cortical recipient layer for thalamic projections, and pyramidal cells in layer 5A (L5A), one of the main cortical output layers, were examined anatomically and ...

Flash Assembloids: A Rapid Biofabrication of a Platform for Modeling Early Glioblastoma Invasion at the Glioblastoma–Brain Organoid Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioengineered assembloid (ASM) system combining glioblastoma (GBM) cells in oxidized alginate (OA) microgels with dorsal organoids (DOs). This model simulates brain tumor‐host interactions, revealing enhanced GBM invasion, altered gene expression, and aggressive infiltration patterns, demonstrating ASM as a valuable platform for ...
