Soft Hypoxia‐Adaptive Bioelectronics Integrating PEDOT:PSS/Polydopamine/Enzyme Biocomposites for Closed‐Loop Therapeutics of Chronic Wounds

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hypoxia‐adaptive bioelectronics based on poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS)/polydopamine (PDA)/enzyme biocomposites couple O2‐centric biosensing with embedded O2 therapy to address oxygen‐deficient chronic wounds. Local O2 provision restores enzyme‐based metabolite sensing, while catalase‐mediated oxygen generation and

Desflurane consumption with the Zeus during automated closed circuit versus low flow anesthesia.

open access: yes, 2009
During automated closed-circuit anesthesia (CCA), the Zeus (Dräger, Lübeck, Germany) uses a high initial fresh gas flow (FGF) to rapidly attain the desired agent and carrier gas concentrations, resulting in a desflurane consumption well above patient ...

Crosstalk Between CTSB+ Glioblastoma Cells and S100A10+ Macrophages: A Self‐Reinforcing Circuit Promotes Immune Evasion and Limits Response to Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In glioblastoma, M2‐polarized macrophages secrete IL‐6, which activates STAT3 signaling in tumor cells to upregulate CTSB. Tumor‐derived CTSB binds the C‐terminus of macrophage S100A10, reinforcing M2 polarization and further IL‐6 secretion, thereby establishing a feedforward IL‐6/STAT3/CTSB/S100A10 loop. This cascade drives tumor growth, invasion, and

Electroencephalogram fractal dimension as a measure of depth of anesthesia

open access: yes, 2008
This paper proposes a combined method including adaptive segmentation and Higuchi fractal dimension (HFD) of electroencephalograms (EEG) to monitor depth of anesthesia (DOA).

Efeitos do óxido nitroso em hipotensão controlada durante anestesia com baixo fluxo Efectos del óxido nitroso en la hipotensión controlada durante la anestesia con bajo flujo The effects of nitrous oxide on controlled hypotension during low flow anesthesia

Hierarchies of circuit classes that are closed under complement

open access: yes, 1996
We examine three hierarchies of circuit classes and show they are closed under complementation. (1) The class of languages recognized by a family of polynomial size skew circuits with width O(w), are closed under complement.

Differential Tissue‐Coupled Powering for Battery‐Free Injectable Electroceuticals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A thread‐like injectable neural stimulator is powered through differential tissue‐coupled powering (DTCP), which harvests RF‐frequency tissue potentials with an elongated receiver while preserving a injectable cross‐section. The system integrates an ASIC, stimulation electrodes, and a portable transmitter, enabling wireless peripheral nerve stimulation,

Loss of SHP1 in Spinal Astrocytes Triggers T‐Lymphocyte Infiltration and Nociceptive Hypersensitivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Astrocyte‐specific SHP1 deletion disrupts astrocyte–vascular interactions and compromises BBB integrity while enhancing STAT1‐dependent CXCL10 expression. These changes synergistically promote peripheral CD4+ and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration into the SDH. The infiltrating T cells secrete IFN‐γ, which in turn activates microglia.

Gestational Hypoxia Disrupts Medial Ganglionic Eminence Progenitor Dynamics and Interneuron Development in Schizophrenia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FES‐derived MGE spheroids exhibit progenitor‐stage alterations in developmental trajectory and hypoxia‐responsive transcriptional programs, followed by functional disruption. Gestational hypoxia recapitulates impaired progenitor proliferation, shortened cell‐cycle progression, interneuron developmental abnormalities, and schizophrenia‐like behaviors in

Closed circuit anesthesia: preservation of the environment.

open access: yesApplied cardiopulmonary pathophysiology : ACP, 1995
Closed circuit anesthesia must be considered as a primary contributor enabling to reduce the damaging effect of anesthetic agents on the environment. Halogenated vapors and nitrous oxide damage both the macro-environment, i.e. the earth's atmosphere layer and the micro-environment, i.e. the operating room ambience.
