The effect of anesthetic technique for transvaginal ultrasound-guided oocyte retrieval on reproductive outcomes: A systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesJournal of Obstetric Anaesthesia and Critical Care, 2015
The effects of various anesthetic techniques used for transvaginal ultrasound-guided oocyte retrieval (TUGOR) on reproductive outcomes remain controversial.

Multimodal Imaging Reveals Cerebral Microcirculation Dynamics and Mechanisms in Mouse Central Nervous System After Intranasal Infection With Recombinant Pseudorabies Virus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multi‐modality imaging strategy applied to PRV‐induced central nervous system infection enables dynamic visualization of cerebrovascular dysfunction, including hyperemia, hypoperfusion, and vascular remodeling. These changes are linked to microglial activation and impaired angiogenesis, providing mechanistic insight into PRV neuropathogenesis and ...

Synaptic Dysfunction in the Anterior Cingulate Cortex Underlies Pain‐Anxiety Comorbidity in a Mandibular Asymmetry Mouse Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study establishes a mandibular asymmetry (MA) mouse model that recapitulates chronic orofacial pain and anxiety comorbidity. Anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) hyperactivation and synaptic dysfunction are identified as central neural mechanisms underlying these pathologies, with chemogenetic inhibition of ACC CaMKII+ neurons effectively reversing ...

General versus local anesthesia for carotid endarterectomy: Special considerations

open access: yesSaudi Journal of Anaesthesia, 2018
Anesthesia for carotid endarterectomy (CEA), general or locoregional, has been an issue of debate in literature ever since the first Cochrane review in 1991.

Therapeutic Reprogramming of Glioblastoma Phenotypic States Using Multifunctional Heparin Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents heparin‐derived nanoparticles (HP‐NPs) as a novel precision medicine platform that combines therapeutic and delivery functions. HP‐NPs target drug‐resistant glioblastoma stem cells, reprogramming them into a drug‐sensitive phenotype and significantly reducing tumor progression.

Anesthetic management of a child with Apert syndrome

open access: yesSaudi Journal of Anaesthesia, 2011
In this paper, the authors describe an anesthetic technique for a child with Apert syndrome, presenting to the operating room for a syndactyly separation. The anesthetic approach is innovative for the clinic and is a combination of intravenous anesthesia

ARL3 Enhances ERα Stability via USP10 Deubiquitination to Promote Endocrine Resistance and Drive Mitochondrial Metabolic Reprogramming in HR+ Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies ADP‐ribosylation factor‐like protein 3 (ARL3) as a novel chaperone that stabilizes estrogen receptor α (ERα) in breast cancer. ARL3 promotes tumor growth by recruiting USP10 to remove ubiquitin chains from ERα, preventing its degradation.

Axillary serratus anterior plane block as a novel approach to anesthetizing the intercostobrachial nerve for upper arm arteriovenous fistula creation surgery -three case reports- [PDF]

open access: yesKorean Journal of Anesthesiology
Background Current regional anesthesia techniques used to anesthetize the intercostobrachial nerve (ICBN) for upper arm surgery either lack reliability or have increased procedural risks.

Temporal Stretch‐Induced Nuclear Mechanosensing Coordinates Early Chromatin Accessibility and Genome Protection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cyclic stretching of fibroblasts triggers coordinated nuclear mechanosensing events, including calcium ion release, perinuclear actin assembly, emerin translocation, and H3K9me3 loss, increasing chromatin accessibility for specific genes related to mechanotransduction and repair.
