A statistical comparison of contact angle measurement methods

Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology, 2019
Contact angles are the characteristic angles made between the surface of a liquid and a solid surface. The measurement of contact angles can be done with multiple methods.

Knee Angle Measurement Device Using Fiber Bragg Grating Sensor

IEEE Sensors Journal, 2018
Human joint kinematics has established its capacity as a vital tool for joint pathology and gait analysis. Range of motion (ROM) of a knee joint performed by flexion and extension is an essential tool to assess the efficacy of surgical interventions or ...

Angle Measuring Interferometer

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1964
A cube-corner angle-measuring interferometer has been developed which reproduces angles up to 30° with a precision of 0.01″. The angular dependence of the interference order rigorously follows a sine law and any angle in the range of the interferometer may be measured with an accuracy which is limited only by the error in the full scale calibration ...

Liquid Metal Gated Tribotronic Transistors as an Electronic Gradienter for Angle Measurement

Advanced Electronic Materials, 2018
Liquid metals (LMs) have attracted great attentions in electronics for great interface contact and flowability. Here, an LM‐gated tribotronic transistor (LMTT) is demonstrated, in which an electrostatic potential is created through the ...

Laser-Assisted Contact Angle Measurements

Optometry and Vision Science, 1988
A laser beam, aimed at the solid-liquid-air interface of a sessile drop on a contact lens, produces two lines of diffraction which are theoretically normal to the profile of the fluid and solid surfaces at the point of contact. In the present experiments, the beam and the diffraction patterns were projected on a flat screen perpendicular to the beam ...

Angle amplification for nanoradian measurements

Applied Optics, 2006
A method to amplify the rotation angle of a mirror, based on multiple reflections between two quasi-parallel mirrors, is presented. The method allows rotations of fractions of nanoradians to be measured with a simple setup. The working principle, the experimental setup, and the results are presented.
