Accurate angle-of-arrival measurement using particle swarm optimization [PDF]
As one of the major methods for location positioning, angle-of-arrival (AOA) estimation is a significant technology in radar, sonar, radio astronomy, and mobile communications.

Shooter localization and weapon classification with soldier-wearable networked sensors [PDF]
The paper presents a wireless sensor network-based mobile countersniper system. A sensor node consists of a helmetmounted microphone array, a COTS MICAz mote for internode communication and a custom sensorboard that implements the acoustic detection and ...

Direction of Arrival Estimation in Low-Grazing Angle: A Partial Spatial-Differencing Approach
This paper addresses a partial spatial-differencing (PSD) approach for the direction of arrival estimation in a low-grazing angle (LGA) condition. By dividing the sample covariance matrix into several column subvectors, we first form the corresponding ...

Gravitational Wave Burst Source Direction Estimation using Time and Amplitude Information [PDF]
In this article we study two problems that arise when using timing and amplitude estimates from a network of interferometers (IFOs) to evaluate the direction of an incident gravitational wave burst (GWB).

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...
