Telecological Collapse: The Inevitability of Climate Breakdown in the Transmedial Podcast Drama Forest 404

open access: yesFuture Humanities, Volume 4, Issue 1, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper presents a close‐hearing analysis of Forest 404, a transmedial audio drama that was released to BBC Sounds in 2019. Despite the drama's eco‐dystopian critique of teleological ‘progress’ narratives (that enable and perpetuate the destruction of the natural world), I argue that the series ultimately propagates a sense of inevitability

When memory meets anxiety: Collective nostalgia (civic- and homogeneity-focused) and collective angst shape strong leader support and voting behaviour

open access: yesMemory, Mind & Media
Elections are moments when nations confront uncertainty about their future and re-examine their past. The present research investigated how two temporal, group-based emotions jointly shape political preferences and behaviour: collective nostalgia ...

Universality of the mean number of real zeros of random trigonometric polynomials under a weak Cramer condition

open access: yes, 2015
We investigate the mean number of real zeros over an interval $[a,b]$ of a random trigonometric polynomial of the form $\sum_{k=1}^n a_k \cos(kt)+b_k \sin(kt)$ where the coefficients are i.i.d. random variables.

Magnetoelectric Effect driven by Magnetic Domain Modification in LuFe2O4

open access: yes, 2013
Magneto-capacitance effect was investigated using the impedance spectroscopy on single crystals of LuFe2O4. The intrinsic impedance response could be separated from the interfacial response and showed a clear hysteresis loop below TFerri ~ 240 K under ...

A framework linking silicon fertilisation, plant silicification and soil carbon cycling

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, Volume 8, Issue 3, Page 861-870, May 2026.
Soil organic carbon (SOC) is vital for soil health, food security, and climate change mitigation. We reviewed how silicon (Si) fertilisers, commonly used to improve plant health, may also influence SOC dynamics. We developed a framework linking Si and SOC and discussed the possibility of Si‐mediated plant changes contributing to SOC sequestration.

The Basis-Access Dilemma for Epistemological Disjunctivism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Epistemological disjunctivists such as Duncan Pritchard claim that in paradigmatic cases of knowledge the rational support for the known propositions is both factive and reflectively accessible.

The History of Star Formation in Galaxy Disks in the Local Volume as Measured by the ACS Nearby Galaxy Survey Treasury

open access: yes, 2011
We present a measurement of the age distribution of stars residing in spiral disks and dwarf galaxies. We derive a complete star formation history of the ~140 Mpc^3 covered by the volume-limited sample of galaxies in the Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS)

Phosphorus gradient yields threshold MAOC response governed by microbial and stoichiometric controls

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, Volume 40, Issue 5, Page 1369-1384, May 2026.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Phosphorus (P) availability is a key factor that mediates the formation of mineral‐associated organic carbon (MAOC) in soils, yet reported responses to P fertilization are often inconsistent.

Precipitação da angústia na estruturação do sujeito pelo significante

open access: yesArquivos Brasileiros de Psicologia, 2012
The paper proposes a conceptual elaboration of the complex articulation that lies underneath the angst theory by J. Lacan. The main discussion focuses on the logical point in which angst affects the subject's experience. Starting from the division of the
