Numerical simulation of the effect of angular misalignment on the dynamic behaviour of bearing

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2022
Bearing has been used extensively in numerous applications and their unplanned failure has a consequential effect on the smooth operation of the machinery. A slight misalignment in bearing has a detrimental effect on the smooth running of most machines.

Design of Multiple- Transmitter WPT System with Angular Misalignment Estimation from Mutual Inductance Tracking

open access: yes, 2022
In this paper, a three-orthogonal WPT system is proposed to estimate the angular misalignment of a receiver from the mutual inductance tracking method between transmitters and a receiver.

Influence of Geometric Design on Mechanical Performance of Auxetic Metastructure

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Strategic geometric reinforcement transforms auxetic performance. This study evaluates 3D‐printed arrowhead metastructures, revealing that a modified design with local ring reinforcement suppresses premature failure to achieve superior energy absorption and structural efficiency.

An experimental investigation of contact characteristics of crown gear coupling with angular misalignment

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2021
Crown gear couplings are commonly applied to transfer rotary motion and torsion from one rotating component to another under a certain misalignment angle.

Defect Evolution and Mechanical Performance of Fused Filament Fabrication‐Manufactured 17‐4PH Stainless Steel Revealed by X‐Ray Computed Tomography

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
X‐ray computed tomography reveals how process‐induced defects evolve from green to sintered states in Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF)‐manufactured 17‐4PH stainless steel. Internal porosity, weakest cross‐sections, and fracture locations show strong correlation with tensile performance, demonstrating the potential of computed tomography (CT)‐based ...

Dynamic analysis of coupling misalignment and unbalance coupled faults

open access: yesJournal of Low Frequency Noise, Vibration and Active Control, 2019
Misalignment is a common fault occurring in the rotor system. However, the response characteristics have not been understood comprehensively, especially the relation between forces or torques and displacements, accelerations, or moments.

Control of Polarization and Polar Helicity in BiFeO3 by Epitaxial Strain and Interfacial Chemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In BiFeO3 thin films, the interplay of interfacial chemistry, electrostatics, and epitaxial strain is engineered to stabilize homohelicity in polarization textures at the domain scale. The synergistic use of a Bi2O2‐terminated Aurivillius buffer layer and a highly anisotropic compressive epitaxial strain offers new routes to control the polar‐texture ...
