Angular and Orbital Angular Momenta in the Tight Focus of a Circularly Polarized Optical Vortex

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
Based on the Richards-Wolf (RW) formalism, we obtain two different exact expressions for the angular momentum (AM) density of light in the focus of an optical vortex with a topological charge n and right circular polarization.

Spin-constrained orbital-angular-momentum control in high-harmonic generation

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2019
The interplay between spin and orbital angular momentum in the up-conversion process allows us to control the macroscopic wave front of high harmonics by manipulating the microscopic polarizations of the driving field.

The Angular Momentum Unloading of the Asymmetric GEO Satellite by Using Electric Propulsion with a Mechanical Arm

open access: yesAerospace
A high-precision attitude control satellite uses an angular momentum exchange device such as a flywheel or a control moment gyro as the actuator for attitude stability control.

Global angular momentum generation in heavy-ion reactions within a hadronic transport approach [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
In this study, we utilize the SMASH transport model to explore the generation of global angular momentum in heavy-ion collisions. Our results corroborate previous models, highlighting a pronounced peak in angular momentum transfer during mid-central ...

X‐Ray Tomography Analysis of Damage Mechanisms in Metal Matrix Syntactic Foams During Compression

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In situ synchrotron X‐ray tomography is used to investigate the internal damage mechanisms of AlSi12 metal matrix syntactic foam with ceramic hollow spheres during compressive loading. It is concluded that a homogeneous distribution of the second‐phase filler material results in a sequential collapse in a localized region; this leads to controlled and ...

Cyclic Evolution of Synergized Spin and Orbital Angular Momenta

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Spin angular momentum (SAM) and orbital angular momentum (OAM) are fundamental physical characteristics described by polarization and spatial degrees of freedom, respectively.

Mapping the transverse spin sum rule in position space

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
We discuss in detail the relativistic spatial distribution of transverse angular momentum, including both orbital and intrinsic spin contributions. Using the quantum phase-space formalism, we begin with the definition of the three-dimensional spatial ...

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Dynamical Properties of Magnetized Low-angular-momentum Accretion Flows around a Kerr Black Hole

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
An essential factor for determining the characteristics of an accretion flow is its angular momentum. According to the angular momentum of the flow, semi-analytical analysis suggests various types of accretion solutions. It is critical to test these with

Angular momentum and chaos bound of charged particles around Einstein–Euler–Heisenberg AdS black holes

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2022
In this paper, we investigate influences of the charge and angular momentum of a particle around a charged Einstein–Euler–Heisenberg AdS black hole on a Lyapunov exponent, and find spatial regions where the chaos bound is violated.
