Measuring Legal Efficacy in Urban Animal Protection: A Novel Approach with NeutroAlgebra and Linguistic Models [PDF]

open access: yesNeutrosophic Sets and Systems
This study, conducted in the Ecuadorian context, introduces an innovative method employing NeutroAlgebra and a 2-tuple neutrosophic linguistic model to evaluate the efficacy of legal and doctrinal foundations for the protection of urban fauna, focusing ...

Online Teaching: The Importance of Pedagogy, Place and Presence in Legal Education

open access: yesLegal Education Review, 2018
In light of the increasing number of animal law units being offered by Australian law schools, it is timely to critically reflect upon the objectives of such units. What is it that we seek to achieve when we teach animal law to law students?

Evaluation of Plasticity and Creep Parameters From Tensile Stress–Strain Data for a Range of Strain Rates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This plot compares experimental tensile stress–strain curves (with 4 different strain rates) and corresponding modelled curves (obtained using the optimised sets of Voce and Miller–Norton parameter values shown). The inferred M‐N values, characterizing the creep, are very similar to those obtained via conventional creep testing.

First Animal Code In France: A Response To A Dissonant Animal Law.

open access: yesDerecho Animal, 2019
In March 2018, the first non-official Animal legal Code was published in France. It includes national and European legislation and jurisprudence. Having no legal effect, it will be argued that this work aims to respond and provide a practical solution to

In Situ Micromechanical Study of Bimodal γ′–γ″ Precipitate Assemblies in Ni–Cr–Al–Nb Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A Ni–Cr–Al–Nb superalloy with a bimodal γ′–γ″ precipitate distribution is developed. Composite precipitate assemblies form through heterogeneous nucleation, effectively impeding dislocation motion. Micropillar compression reveals high strength at room and elevated temperatures, governed by precipitate shearing, with coupled faulting mechanisms ...

Toward Knowledge‐Based Workflows: A Semantic Approach to Atomistic Simulations for Mechanical and Thermodynamic Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Knowledge‐based atomistic workflows are presented for mechanical and thermodynamic properties. By coupling modular simulations with ontology‐aligned metadata and provenance, Fe case studies on elastic behavior, defects, thermal properties, and Hall–Petch strengthening reveal how FAIR, queryable, and reusable simulation data can be generated. Mechanical

Ireland’s First Undergraduate Animal Law Module in a Law School

open access: yesJournal of Animal Law, Ethics and One Health
This article is an account of how I came to set up Ireland’s first module in animal law at undergraduate level in a law school. I give an insight into my multidisciplinary and international academic background which sheds light on my influences.

A Global Justice Approach to Animal Law and Ethics

open access: yes, 2011
This article is concerned with the emergence of a paradigm of global justice, from its earliest expression by Jeremy Bentham in 1789 through to today, to Peter Singer's well known preference utilitarianism and Martha Nussbaum's less well known ...

Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...
