Advancing skin model development: A focus on a self-assembled, induced pluripotent stem cell-derived, xeno-free approach

open access: yesJournal of Tissue Engineering
The demand for skin models as alternatives to animal testing has grown due to ethical concerns and the need for accurate substance evaluation. These alternatives, known as New Approach Methodologies (NAMs), are increasingly used for regulatory decisions.

Inhibitor of DNA binding‐1 is a key regulator of cancer cell vasculogenic mimicry

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Elevated expression of transcriptional regulator inhibitor of DNA binding 1 (ID1) promoted cancer cell‐mediated vasculogenic mimicry (VM) through regulation of pro‐angiogenic and pro‐cancerous genes (e.g. VE‐cadherin (CDH5), TIE2, MMP9, DKK1). Higher ID1 expression also increased metastases to the lung and the liver.

VALIDACIÓN INTRALABORATORIO DE UNA METODOLOGÍA ANALÍTICA POR ESPECTROFOTOMETRÍA UV/VIS PARA EVALUAR EL POTENCIAL IRRITANTE OCULAR DE TENSOACTIVOS EN GLÓBULOS ROJOS INTRALABORATORY VALIDATION OF AN ANALYTICAL METHODOLOGY BY UV/VIS SPECTROMETRY IN ORDER TO EVALUATE THE OCULAR IRRITANT POTENTIAL OF TENSOACTIVES IN RED BLOOD CELLS

open access: yesVitae, 2011
Se presentan los resultados de la validación intralaboratorio para los parámetros de linealidad, repetibilidad y precisión intermedia del ensayo en glóbulos rojos, metodología in vitro empleada para evaluar la irritación ocular.

Chemoresistome mapping in individual breast cancer patients unravels diversity in dynamic transcriptional adaptation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study used longitudinal transcriptomics and gene‐pattern classification to uncover patient‐specific mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer. Findings reveal preexisting drug‐tolerant states in primary tumors and diverse gene rewiring patterns across patients, converging on a few dysregulated functional modules. Despite receiving the

Implementation of the 3Rs Concept in Quality Control of Biologicals: Status and Prospects (Review)

open access: yesБезопасность и риск фармакотерапии
INTRODUCTION. Many countries are implementing an increasing number of alternatives to animal testing in the research, development, and quality control of medicines under the concept of 3Rs (replacement, reduction, and refinement).

Ubiquitination of transcription factors in cancer: unveiling therapeutic potential

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In cancer, dysregulated ubiquitination of transcription factors contributes to the uncontrolled growth and survival characteristics of tumors. Tumor suppressors are degraded by aberrant ubiquitination, or oncogenic transcription factors gain stability through ubiquitination, thereby promoting tumorigenesis.
