Anionic Polymerization of Styrenic Macromonomers

open access: yesMacromolecules, 2003
A new methodology for the anionic polymerization of styrenic macromonomers is proposed. By using this methodology, a new family of well-defined complex macromolecular architectures, having macromonomers as building blocks, can be synthesized. A few examples are PsMMI-b-PsMMB, PsMMI-co-PsMMB, PsMMI-b-PS-b-PsMMI, (PsMMI)3, and PsMMSIM, among others.

Dispersion of nano-silica in monomer casting nylon6 and its effect on the structure and properties of composites

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2010
To promote dispersion of nano-silica in monomer casting nylon6 (MC nylon6), nano-silica was dispersed in melted caprolactam with the assistance of ultrasound, anionic polymerization was then initiated to form silica/MC nylon6 in-situ nanocomposites.

Aspectos de la polimerización de glicidil metacrilato y sulfuro de propileno, usando difenilcinc como iniciador [PDF]

open access: yesAvances en Química, 2010
The catalytic activity of diphenylzinc as initiator in the ring opening polymerization of glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) and propylene sulfide (PS) was analyzed. Diphenylzinc exhibited high activity as initiator in the polymerization of both monomers.

Direct access to poly(glycidyl azide) and its copolymers through anionic (co-)polymerization of glycidyl azide

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
Poly(glycidyl azide) is an excellent energetic binder or plasticizer, however its production relies on post-modificaiton strategies. Here, the authors directly produced Poly(glycidyl azide) via anionic ring-opening polymerization of glycidyl azide ...

Synthesis and butadiene polymerization behaviors of cationic cobalt-based catalyst

open access: yesJournal of Saudi Chemical Society, 2017
A series of cationic cobalt-based compounds bearing different neutral N-bearing ligands (1,10-phenanthroline, bipyridine, benzimidazole, terpyridine) and anionic ligands (trifluoromethanesulfonate, methanesulfonate) were synthesized and the simple ...

Investigations on the anionic polymerization of butadiene in capillaries by kinetic measurements and reactor simulation

open access: yesGreen Processing and Synthesis, 2013
For the first time the anionic polymerization of 1,3-butadiene (Bd) is successfully transferred from semi-batch into a continuous microfluidic setup with comparable product properties.

Hybrid anionic block copolymerization: From organocatalysis‐streamlined crossover to internally microphase‐separated aggregates

open access: yesAggregate
Polyolefin‐b‐poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) represents the most widely investigated amphiphilic block copolymers. So far, one‐pot continuous synthesis of such hybrid block copolymers has only been fulfilled by anionic polymerization through sequential ...

Synthesis of Block Copolymers of Varying Architecture Through Suppression of Transesterification during Coordinated Anionic Ring Opening Polymerization

open access: yesInternational Journal of Biomaterials, 2012
Well-defined di- and triblock copolymers consisting of ε-caprolactone (CL), L-lactide (LA), and trimethylene carbonate (TMC) were synthesized via “PLA first route” in coordinated anionic ring opening polymerization/copolymerization (CAROP) with tin (II ...

A novel synthetic strategy for styrene–butadiene–styrene tri-block copolymer with high cis-1,4 units via changing catalytic active centres [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2019
A styrene–butadiene–styrene tri-block copolymer (SBS) with a high cis-1,4 unit content (greater than 97%) was synthesized by a novel synthetic strategy based on changing the catalytic active centres using n-butyllithium and a nickel-based catalyst ...
