Effects of post-anneal conditions on the dielectric properties of CaCu3Ti4O12 thin films prepared on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrates

open access: yes, 2003
High-dielectric-constant CaCu3Ti4O12 (CCTO) thin films were prepared on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si(100) substrates by pulsed-laser deposition. The 480 nm thick polycrystalline films have preferred orientation and show obvious crystallization on the surface.

Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma Deoxidation of Natively Oxide Layer of Copper Powders in a Fluidized Bed

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a novel approach to reducing oxide layers on metal powders using low‐temperature hydrogen dielectric barrier discharge plasmas at atmospheric pressure. Unlike conventional hydrogen‐plasma reductions, the powders do not contact the plasma directly.

Evolution of Superconductivity in Fe$_{1+y}$Te$_{1-x}$Se$_{x}$ Annealed in Te Vapor

open access: yes, 2013
We report a detailed study of the Te vapor annealing effect in Fe$_{1+y}$Te$_{0.6}$Se$_{0.4}$ single crystals. Bulk superconductivity can be gradually induced by annealing with increasing amount of Te, until the molar ratio of Te to the sample reaches 1 :

The change of electronic state and crystal structure by post-annealing in superconducting SrFe2(As0.65P0.35)2

open access: yes, 2013
We investigated the annealing effects on the physical properties of SrFe$_2$(As$_{1-x}$P$_x$)$_2$ ($x=0.35$). The superconducting transition temperature ($T_c$) increased from 26 K to 33 K by annealing.

Multifunctional Crushing and Piezoresistive Self‐Sensing in Conductive Epoxy/CNT‐Coated Polyetherimide TPMS Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports lightweight polyetherimide triply periodic minimal surfaces lattices coated with carbon nanotube‐reinforced epoxy that combine mechanical robustness with self‐sensing. The conformal coating enhances stiffness, strength and energy absorption while enabling reliable strain monitoring.

Relation of classical non-equilibrium dynamics and quantum annealing

open access: yes, 2015
Non-equilibrium dynamics of the Ising model is a classical stochastic process whereas quantum mechanics has no stochastic elements in the classical sense.

Characterization of Macro/Microstructure and Corrosion Resistance of Austenitic Gas Tungsten Arc Welding Cladding

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Cladding is a proven method that boosts the surface qualities of mechanical parts by applying a layer of more durable material over a base substrate. This work responds to the needs of offshore and pressure vessels sectors by focusing on cladding a super austenitic steel onto low‐carbon steel through gas tungsten arc welding.

Solid‐State Diffusion and Intermetallic Phase Formation in Roll‐Bonded Mg–Zn Composites With Kirigami‐Patterned Inlay

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.
