Callus cultures of Annona squamosa for the production of annonaceous acetogenins
Journal of Asian Natural Products Research, 2002Callus cultures of Annona squamosa were induced using different explants including petals, seed contents (megagametophyte and embryo) and fruits (mesocarp). Growth of the calli induced from the explants was found to be influenced by the type, concentration and ratio of auxin vs. cytokinin.

Unproductivity in the Colchicine-induced Tetraploids of Annona squamosa L.
Nature, 1960ONLY two out of a large number of colchicine-treated Annona squamosa plants reported earlier1 proved pure tetraploid on chromosome examination. The one suspected to be tetraploid on morphological grounds and reported in that paper to have borne fruits earlier than the control was found to be diploid. The two pure tetraploids have been under observation
