Science of the Total Environment, 2010 Annoyance has been identified as the most important psychological impact arisen from noise. Besides socioeconomic status, residing neighborhood characteristics such as greenery has been shown to be able to reduce noise annoyance.

These standards are based on levels of thresholds of the human auditory system and subjective observations of vibrations of human body impacted by infrasound waves.
