On state of commercial herd of chum salmon Oncorhynchus keta and forecasting its abundance at Iturup Island

open access: yesИзвестия ТИНРО, 2023
Population dynamics and size-age structure are analyzed for the chum salmon herd formed in the Prostor and Kurilsky Bays of Iturup Island (Kuril Islands). Release of chum juveniles into the waters of the bays increased from 10.7.106 ind. in 1996 to 197.6.

Probabilistic Approaches to Setting Acceptable Biological Catch and Annual Catch Targets for Multiple Years: Reconciling Methodology with National Standards Guidelines [PDF]

open access: yesMarine and Coastal Fisheries, 2010
Abstract In U.S. federal fishery management, acceptable biological catch (ABC) is set below (or equal to) the overfishing limit to account for scientific uncertainty, and annual catch targets (ACTs) are set below (or equal to) the ABC to account for implementation uncertainty (i.e., imperfect management control).

On the Causes of Annual Variation of Albacore Catch in the Coral and Tasman Seas-II

open access: yesNIPPON SUISAN GAKKAISHI, 1968
The author studied monthly and annual variations of distribution of sea surface temperature and made some consideration on the distribution of water masses, and obtained following results: 1. Isothermal lines of 18°C, 22°C and 25°C moved north from July to August and moved south from August to December (Fig. 2). 2. The above mentioned result shows that
