Abstract1. Eight adult cases of jaundice associated with an annular pancreas have been reported. Two more are added.2. Jaundice and dilatation of the common bile-duct are usually due to recurrent pancreatitis of the annulus and are rarely due to gall-stones.3. The dilated duct should be explored for a stone.

The VHL tumor suppressor at the crossroad of protein folding, aggregation, and cancer
Mutations, environmental stress, and chaperone dysfunction can destabilize pVHL, promoting its conversion from the native folded state into amyloid‐like assemblies. This transition may contribute to protein storage, cell dormancy, survival, and drug resistance.

Delayed diagnosis of annular pancreas in 11-year-old girl with DiGeorge syndrome
DiGeorge Syndrome is a collection of symptoms stemming from a heterozygous microdeletion on chromosome 22. An eleven-year-old girl with DiGeorge syndrome presented to our Pediatric Surgery with a history of episodes of vomiting since birth, and a recent ...

We established the avian chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) assay as a scalable in vivo model for studying circulating tumor cells (CTCs). Human gastrointestinal tumors spontaneously released genetically validated CTCs that were detected across multiple platforms, demonstrating that the CAM model provides an accessible tool for investigating early cancer ...

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Phase flow rate measurements of annular flows [PDF]
In the international oil and gas industry multiphase annular flow in pipelines and wells is extremely important, but not well understood. This thesis reports the development of an efficient and cheap method for measuring the phase flow rates in two phase

A simple analytical model to study and control azimuthal instabilities in annular combustion chambers [PDF]
This study describes a simple analytical method to compute the azimuthal modes appearing in annular combustion chambers and help analyzing experimental, acoustic and LES (Large Eddy Simulation) data obtained in these combustion chambers. It is based on

Aquaporin‐3 and aquaporin‐5 impact the development of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma spheroids
Schematic representation of the role of aquaporin‐3 (AQP3) and aquaporin‐5 (AQP5) in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Both proteins are upregulated in PDAC and are associated with tumor progression and metastatic potential. Silencing AQP3 or AQP5 in PDAC spheroids results in decreased diameter, area, and overall growth, underscoring their key ...
