Additional Resection of the Pancreas Body Prevents Postoperative Pancreas Fistula in Patients with Portal Annular Pancreas Who Undergo Pancreaticoduodenectomy

open access: yesCase Reports in Gastroenterology, 2012
Portal annular pancreas (PAP) is a rare variant in which the uncinate process of the pancreas extends to the dorsal surface of the pancreas body and surrounds the portal vein or superior mesenteric vein.Upon pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD), when the ...

Concurrence of Hirschsprung Disease and congenital duodenal obstruction

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Surgery Case Reports, 2020
Hirschsprung disease (HD), duodenal atresia, and annular pancreas are rare congenital gastrointestinal malformations. Although 18% of HD cases are associated with other malformations, little evidence exists of concurrent HD and duodenal atresia or HD and

Accurate and noninvasive prostate cancer detection using plasma‐derived extracellular vesicle RNA

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Plasma extracellular vesicles were captured with WGA‐conjugated magnetic beads and profiled for RNA biomarkers. A three‐RNA panel (NM_024955, NR_047469, and NR_002564) distinguished prostate cancer from healthy controls and benign prostatic hyperplasia, supporting a simple, noninvasive approach to improve prostate cancer detection.

Purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 for phase separation studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe detailed protocols for the purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 (MpARF2). This protein is fused to an MBP solubility tag and an mNG fluorescent tag and is purified from Escherichia coli. The presented procedures make it possible to study MpARF2 assemblies, which could arise from phase separation ...

Printed Integrated Logic Circuits Based on Chitosan‐Gated Organic Transistors for Future Edible Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

An Integrated Oxygen‐Supplying Device and Predictive Multiphysics Model for Extended Ambient Transport of Insulin‐Producing Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cell therapies typically rely on cold‐chain logistics and cryopreservation, limiting access and compromising cell quality. Here, a dual‐chamber device separates an oxygen‐supplying chamber from a hyaluronic acid cargo chamber, sustaining oxygen delivery for over 70 h and enabling ambient‐temperature shipment.

Annular pancreas presenting as gastric outlet obstruction in an adult: a case report

open access: yesJournal of Society of Surgeons of Nepal, 2017
Annular pancreas is a rare congenital abnormality which arises in the embryo by persistence of pancreatic tissue in the track which the ventral pancreatic bud follows in its rotation round the duodenum.

Targeting CD300a Signaling With a Phosphatidylserine‐Presenting Hydrogel Rescues Macrophage Dysfunction and Accelerates Diabetic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of the proposed mechanism: PEG/RGD‐PSLs mimic apoptotic cells to engage PS receptors (notably CD300a), transducing an inhibitory signal that suppresses the MyD88/NF‐κB pathway, leading to global anti‐inflammatory and pro‐reparative effects.
