Electrical breakdown of anodic aluminum oxide
Soviet Physics Journal, 1990Results are presented from a study of electrical breakdown of anodic aluminum oxide in a constant field with a platinum pressure electrode. Statistical breakdown parameters and their dependence on the magnitude and polarity of the applied voltage are obtained.

Birefringence in porous anodic aluminum oxide
Optics and Spectroscopy, 2004Birefringence properties of a disordered two-dimensional photonic crystal are demonstrated experimentally for the first time. It is proposed to use porous anodic aluminum oxide, which has anisotropy on the scale of the wavelength of light, as a new birefringent material in the optical range.

Anodic oxide thickness on aluminum
Corrosion Science, 1977Abstract A procedure for ellipsometric measurement of oxide film thickness on aluminum foil is reported. A method of cleaning the foil surface to give a reproducible natural film of thickness comparable with that on evaporated film and bulk aluminum is described.

CRYSTALLIZATION OF ANODIC ALUMINUM OXIDE MEMBRANES
Modern Physics Letters B, 2009Nanoporous anodic aluminum oxide membranes (AAM) were fabricated in oxalic acid electrolytes using a two-step anodization process. Membranes' structure and morphology were examined using scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction after the annealing treatment.

1970
It was toward the end of the previous century that the commercial production techniques of aluminum were established, owing their success to the electrolytic reduction process. This development made it possible to use aluminum commercially and to exploit its many desirable properties.

Raman spectroscopy with graphenated anodized aluminum oxide substrates
Nanotechnology, 2009We measured the Raman scattering of graphene deposited nanohole arrays. As the sample was azimuthally rotated, periodicities of 7.5 degrees and 5 degrees were revealed for the 2700 cm(-1) and 1600 cm(-1) Raman lines of graphene, respectively. This is contrary to the scattered laser line azimuthal symmetry of 30 degrees for the hole array alone.

Surface enhanced Raman with anodized aluminum oxide films
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2007Aluminum is not a platform of choice for surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) experiments despite its large negative permittivity value (larger than gold or silver at optical wavelengths). It is also widely believed that an oxide layer on top of any platform substantially impedes SERS signals.

Drug Release Behavior from Nanoporous Anodic Aluminum Oxide
Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2010In this study, we developed a new drug delivery system using anodic oxidation. The growth of a porous oxide layer on aluminum under anodic bias in various electrolytes has been studied for more than 40 years. Anodic Aluminum Oxide (AAO) has many uniform nanopores on its surface. This nanoporous surface can be used for drug storage.

The anodic oxidation of aluminum
2012Some characteristics of the process of anodic oxidation of aluminum at a constant current have been studied. Solid aluminum oxide layers were formed in ammonium citrate at a constant current and the voltage across, the layer and luminescence from the layer were studied.

Fabrication of Well-Ordered, Anodic Aluminum Oxide Membrane Using Hybrid Anodization
Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2017Anodic Aluminum Oxide (AAO) is one of the most favorable candidates for fabrication of nano-meshed membrane for various applications due to its controllable pore size and self-ordered structure. The mechanism of AAO membrane is a simple and has been studied by many research groups, however the actual fabrication of membrane has several difficulties ...
