Nanopore Gradients on Porous Aluminum Oxide Generated by Nonuniform Anodization of Aluminum

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2010
A method for surface engineering of structural gradients with nanopore topography using the self-ordering process based on electrochemical anodization of aluminum is described. A distinct anodization condition with an asymmetrically distributed electric field at the electrolyte/aluminum interface is created by nonparallel arrangement between electrodes

GUIDED NANOSTRUCTURES USING ANODIZED ALUMINUM OXIDE TEMPLATES

Nano, 2011
In this paper, we review recent advances in nanotemplate fabrication using anodized aluminum oxide (AAO). In addition to self-ordered AAO nanoarrays, guided AAO self-assembly is of great interest since it can offer highly ordered, vertically aligned nanoporous templates which are suitable for various materials synthesis and alignment of nanosized ...

Intense blue luminescence of anodic aluminum oxide

Optics and Spectroscopy, 2008
The luminescence spectra of aluminum oxide with an ordered system of through pores have been studied. The diameter and density of pores were ≈ 50 nm and 1.2 × 1010 cm−2, respectively. Amorphous aluminum oxide formed by anodization of aluminum foil in an oxalic acid electrolyte shows intense luminescence in the blue spectral region.

Anodic Aluminum Oxide Growth and Structure

2018
In this chapter, the model for anodic oxide formation continues to tie initial surface oxidation with porous oxide growth resulting in the highly ordered, self-assembled network of individual oxide cells that comprise the Anodic Aluminum Oxide (AAO). The theory for anodic oxide nucleation and growth builds on the mechanistic approach for the formation ...

Thermodepolarization Analysis of Aluminum — Anodic Aluminum Oxide Electret Systems

Russian Physics Journal, 2005
Aluminum — anodic aluminum oxide electret systems prepared under widely varying oxidation conditions are studied in the present work by the methods of thermodepolarization analysis in combination with oxide partitioning. Energy spectra of polarization oxide state, volumetric charge distribution with the oxide thickness, total and partial charges ...

Anodization rate and augmentation factor of anodic aluminum oxide films

Journal of Applied Physics, 1979
This paper presents a determination method for both the oxidation rate and the augmentation factor of anodic oxide films. The augmentation factor, which is the ratio of pure oxide thickness to that of its initial metallic thickness, is determined by thickness and optical absorption measurements.

HARD ANODIC OXIDATION OF A356 ALUMINUM ALLOY

2021
ASTM A356 (ISO AlSi7Mg) aluminum alloys are widely used in automotive and aircraft industries but they are selected mainly as automobiles wheel rim materials. They are composed of magnesium and silicon elements for improving corrosion and strength properties.
