High‐Temperature Nanoindentation of Metals: Assessing Thermal Drift, Frame Compliance, and Chemical Composition Effects on the Reported Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...

The applicability of the T/S method to geopotential anomaly computations in the Northeast Atlantic [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
Methods are tested for computing geopotential anomalies from temperature data in the subtropical Northeast Atlantic. Mean temperature-salinity, salinity-depth and density-depth relationships are determined for 3 x 3° squares, using hydrographie data ...

Anomalies without Massless Particles

open access: yes, 1993
Baryon and lepton number in the standard model are violated by anomalies, even though the fermions are massive. This problem is studied in the context of a two dimensional model.

Composites of Shellac and Silver Nanowires as Flexible, Biobased, and Corrosion‐Resistant Transparent Conductive Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

Medication use during pregnancy and the risk of gastroschisis: a systematic review and meta-analysis of observational studies

open access: yesOrphanet Journal of Rare Diseases
Objectives The aetiology of gastroschisis is considered multifactorial. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to assess whether the use of medications during pregnancy, is associated with the risk of gastroschisis in offspring.

Multimodal management of late-stage Bockenheimer disease complicated by severe anemia and coagulopathy: a case report

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine
BackgroundBockenheimer disease is a rare subtype of venous malformations that involves all tissue planes of an upper extremity. This condition progresses throughout life and may cause pain, swelling, hematologic complications, and loss of function ...

Magnetic Control of Chiral Hybridized Phonon Magnetic Moments in Ferrimagnets Fe2‐xZnxMo3O8

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Helicity‐resolved magneto‐Raman spectroscopy reveals magnetic control of chiral phonon magnetic moments in polar ferrimagnet (ZnxFe2−xMo3O₈). Large spontaneous zero‐field phonon splittings, selective phonon–magnon coupling, and asymmetric Zeeman responses demonstrate that phonon chirality is governed by magnon‐phonon coupling and magnetization.
