Diffusion Spectrum Imaging Maps Early Axonal Loss and a Unique Progressive Signal in Neuronal Intranuclear Inclusion Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To delineate specific in vivo white matter pathology in neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) using diffusion spectrum imaging (DSI) and define its clinical relevance. Methods DSI was performed on 42 NIID patients and 38 matched controls.

CPT and Other Symmetries in String/M Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We initiate a search for non-perturbative consistency conditions in M theory. Some non-perturbative conditions are already known in Type I theories; we review these and search for others. We focus principally on possible anomalies in discrete symmetries.

SPG4 and Dementia: Expanding the Clinical Spectrum

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) is a group of disorders characterized by progressive spasticity and lower limb weakness, with mutations in SPG4/SPAST being the most common cause. Detailed studies and clinical and molecular comparisons across different populations are missing.

Individual charge traps in silicon nanowires: Measurements of location, spin and occupation number by Coulomb blockade spectroscopy

open access: yes, 2006
We study anomalies in the Coulomb blockade spectrum of a quantum dot formed in a silicon nanowire. These anomalies are attributed to electrostatic interaction with charge traps in the device.

Global anomalies in M-theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We first consider M-theory formulated on an open eleven-dimensional spin-manifold. There is then a potential anomaly under gauge transformations on the E_8 bundle that is defined over the boundary and also under diffeomorphisms of the boundary.

Endoscopic versus open surgery for soft tissue vascular anomalies and benign tumors: a two-center propensity score-matched study

open access: yesFrontiers in Surgery
BackgroundNo large-scale study has compared the outcomes of soft-tissue endoscopic surgery (SOFTES) with conventional open surgery (OS) for vascular anomalies and benign soft tissue tumors. We aimed to compare the operative safety, efficacy, and outcomes

RNA Sequencing Resolves Cryptic Pathogenic Variants in Mitochondrial Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Mitochondrial diseases are the most common inherited metabolic disorders, characterized by pronounced clinical and genetic heterogeneity that complicates molecular diagnosis. Although DNA‐based sequencing approaches have become standard in genetic testing, up to half of patients remain without a definitive diagnosis.

Anomalies in supergravity

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1986
Abstract The anomaly of the supercurrent of an abelian vector multiplet interacting with external supergravity is considered, and it is shown that it is equivalent to a gravitational anomaly. The local counterterms that reinstate the conservation of the supercurrent are exhibited.

Predictive Ability of Plasma p‐tau217 for β‐Amyloid Status: A Prospective Multicenter Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Plasma tau phosphorylated at threonine 217 (p‐tau217) measured with fully automated platforms has shown high accuracy for Alzheimer's disease (AD) diagnosis, but real‐world multicenter data remain limited. We aimed to validate the diagnostic performance of p‐tau217 for identifying AD pathology in a real‐world multicenter cohort ...

Earth Flyby Anomalies

open access: yes, 2009
In a reference frame fixed to the solar system's center of mass, a satellite's energy will change as it is deflected by a planet. But a number of satellites flying by Earth have also experienced energy changes in the Earth-centered frame -- and that's a ...
