Semilinear hyperbolic systems in one space dimension with strongly singular initial data

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 1997
In this article interactions of singularities in semilinear hyperbolic partial differential equations in R^2 are studied. Consider a simple non-linear system of three equations with derivatives of Dirac delta functions as initial data. As the micro-local

Experimental characteristics of anomalous soft photon radiation in $\pi^{-}$ p interactions at 280 GeV/c

open access: yes, 2000
The unexpectedly high rate of soft photons produced in hadron interactions remains a puzzle. We report on the experimental characteristics of the anomalous soft photons produced in pi /sup -/p interactions at 280 GeV/c in the CERN experiment WA9l, namely,

Transient Charging of Mixed Ionic‐Electronic Conductors by Anomalous Diffusion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This article explores charge transport in mixed ionic‐electronic conductors (MIECs) through electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and transient current analysis. Focusing on PEDOT:PSS, WO3, and n‐doped PBDF, it uncovers the impact of anomalous diffusion via fractional modeling. The study reveals key correlations that deepen understanding and guide the

Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy in Bionanotechnology: Current Advances and Future Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Kelvin probe force microscopy (KPFM) enables the nanoscale mapping of electrostatic surface potentials. While widely applied in materials science, its use in biological systems remains emerging. This review presents recent advances in KPFM applied to biological samples and provides a critical perspective on current limitations and future directions for

Anomalies and Market Efficiency [PDF]

open access: yes
Anomalies are empirical results that seem to be inconsistent with maintained theories of asset-pricing behavior. They indicate either market inefficiency (profit opportunities) or inadequacies in the underlying asset-pricing model.

Preparation and properties of zirconium tungstate with anomalous thermal characteristics

open access: yesИзвестия Томского политехнического университета: Инжиниринг георесурсов, 2019
The main aim of the study: The actuality of the discussed issue is caused by the lack of systematic studies of structural phase transformations of zirconium tungstate at temperature increase. The methods used in the study:High temperature in situ X-ray analysis, refinement of the structure by the Rietveld method using TOPAS v.4.2 (Bruker) software ...

Microscopic Insights into Magnetic Warping and Time‐Reversal Symmetry Breaking in Topological Surface States of Rare‐Earth‐Doped Bi2Te3

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic doping of the topological insulator Bi2Te3 with erbium adatoms induces out‐of‐plane magnetism and breaks time‐reversal symmetry, opening a Dirac gap and driving a Fermi surface transition from hexagonal to star‐of‐David geometry. Microscopy, spectroscopy, and magnetic dichroism reveal atomically controlled magnetic interactions that tailor the

Resolving the Structural Duality of Graphene Grain Boundaries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Cantilever ncAFM resolves the atomic structure of grain boundaries in graphene, revealing coexisting stable and metastable types. Both contain pentagon/heptagon defects, but metastable GBs show irregular geometries. Modeling shows metastable GBs form under compression, exhibiting vertical corrugation, while stable GBs are flat.
