Experimental Evidence for Anomalous Retroactive Influences on Human Cognition and Affect

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2011
Six experiments are described that take well‐established psychological effects on human cognition and affect and “time‐reverse” them so that the individual's responses are obtained before the putatively causal stimulus events occur. Two of the experiments tested for the retroactive facilitation of recall: It is well known that rehearsing or practicing ...

Afterthoughts on precognition: No cogent evidence for anomalous influences of consequent events on preceding cognition

Theory and Psychology, 2013
In a recently published major article in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology , Daryl Bem (2011) made a strong claim for the existence of a parapsychological phenomenon called retroactive causation.

Anomalous perception in synaesthesia: A cognitive neuroscience perspective

Nature Reviews Neuroscience, 2002
An enduring question in cognitive neuroscience is how the physical properties of the world are represented in the brain to yield conscious perception. In most people, a particular physical stimulus gives rise to a unitary, unimodal perceptual experience.

Pattern based anomalous user detection in cognitive radio networks

2015 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2015
Cognitive radio (CR) provides the ability to sense the range of frequencies (spectrum) that are not utilized by the incumbent user (primary user) and to opportunistically use the unoccupied spectrum in a heterogeneous environment. This can use a collaborative spectrum sensing approach to detect the spectrum holes.

Analytic cognitive style predicts paranormal explanations of anomalous experiences but not the experiences themselves: Implications for cognitive theories of delusions

Journal of Behavior Therapy and Experimental Psychiatry, 2017
It has been proposed that delusional beliefs are attempts to explain anomalous experiences. Why, then, do anomalous experiences induce delusions in some people but not in others? One possibility is that people with delusions have reasoning biases that result in them failing to reject implausible candidate explanations for anomalous experiences.

Anomalous spectrum usage attack detection in cognitive radio wireless networks

2011 IEEE International Conference on Technologies for Homeland Security (HST), 2011
In many mission-critical applications such as military operations or disaster relief efforts, wireless networks employing dynamic spectrum access enabled by cognitive radio technology gain popularity due to their high spectrum efficiency and interoperability.

Space and Objects: On the Phenomenology and Cognitive Neuroscience of Anomalous Perception in Schizophrenia (Ancillary Article to EAWE Domain 1)

Psychopathology, 2017
Background/Aims: Perception of space and objects is a traditional focus within phenomenology, and disturbances in these aspects of perception among people with schizophrenia have long been discussed within phenomenological psychiatry.
