Biophysical processes within living systems rely on encounters and interactions between molecules in complex environments such as cells. They are often described by anomalous diffusion transport. Recent advances in single-molecule microscopy and particle-

Využití alfa-stabilního rozdělení k modelování migrace
Migration is very wide term describing any case of object movement in given space. Migration phenomena can be modelled from a theoretical as well as an empirical perspective. Many researches have been analysing the causes of this timely event to give the

Subdiffusion-limited reactions
We consider the coagulation dynamics A+A -> A and A+A A and the annihilation dynamics A+A -> 0 for particles moving subdiffusively in one dimension. This scenario combines the "anomalous kinetics" and "anomalous diffusion" problems, each of which leads ...

Multiscale numerical schemes for kinetic equations in the anomalous diffusion limit [PDF]
We construct numerical schemes to solve kinetic equations with anomalous diffusion scaling. When the equilibrium is heavy-tailed or when the collision frequency degenerates for small velocities, an appropriate scaling should be made and the limit model ...

Recurrent Hypothermia and Autonomic Dysfunction Secondary to Shapiro Syndrome
ABSTRACT A 44‐year‐old man presented with recurrent hypothermia, diaphoresis and hypertension. Extensive investigation for infectious, inflammatory, metabolic and endocrine aetiologies was negative. MR scan of the brain demonstrated no lesions but revealed callosal dysgenesis, consistent with Shapiro syndrome.

First Passage Time Distribution for Anomalous Diffusion
We study the first passage time (FPT) problem in Levy type of anomalous diffusion. Using the recently formulated fractional Fokker-Planck equation, we obtain an analytic expression for the FPT distribution which, in the large passage time limit, is ...

People with systemic autoimmune and rheumatic diseases (SARDs) are at higher risk than the general population of experiencing adverse pregnancy and perinatal outcomes such as preeclampsia, intrauterine growth restriction, and maternal and/or fetal death.

Unravelling the origins of anomalous diffusion: From molecules to migrating storks
Anomalous diffusion or, more generally, anomalous transport, with nonlinear dependence of the mean-squared displacement on the measurement time, is ubiquitous in nature.

Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for
