Geology and Geochemistry of the Ship Creek and Monashka Creek reservoirs, Southcentral Alaska [PDF]
Graywacke from the Ship Creek watershed, dissolves incongruently in distilled water. The dissolution appears to follow a first-order rate law which in integrated form is: k = -2.303/t log No-Q/No where No is the concentration in ppm of Ca, Mg, Na or K ...

Central Mass Concentration and Bar Dissolution in Nearby Spiral Galaxies [PDF]
We use data from the BIMA Survey of Nearby Galaxies (SONG) to investigate the relationship between ellipticity and central mass concentration in barred spirals.

Emergent Freestanding Complex Oxide Membranes for Multifunctional Applications
This review surveys freestanding oxide membranes and covers fabrication and three pathways for studies and devices: strain‐free and strained membranes, and van der Waals‐integrated heterostructures. We show how coupled oxide responses map onto these routes and cross‐couple to expand behaviors.

Tunable Sensitivity in PAN/CNF/PEDOT:PSS Nanofiber‐Based Piezocapacitive Sensors
This study demonstrates highly tunable, flexible pressure sensors made from a nanofibrous composite of polyacrylonitrile (PAN) and carbon nanofibers (CNF) or poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS). By adjusting filler type, concentration, and mat thickness, the sensors achieve large sensitivity improvements, stable ...

Directed Navigation of Magnetotactic Bacteria via Magnetotaxis in a 3D Vasculature‐On‐A‐Chip
A perfusable vascular network is developed to investigate MTB at the single‐microorganism level. MTB is demonstrated to successfully align and navigate along the magnetic field inside the microvessels. Abstract Magnetotactic bacteria (MTB), inherently motile and self‐powered, are promising biorobotic candidates for targeted anti‐cancer drug delivery ...

Anomalous Surface Segregation Profiles in Ferritic FeCr Stainless Steel
The iron-chromium alloy and its derivatives are widely used for their remarkable resistance to corrosion, which only occurs in a narrow concentration range around 9 to 13 atomic percent chromium.

Anomalous Dissolution of Copper in Al-Cu alloys
During galvanic coupling between copper and aluminium, copper can undergo anomalous dissolution and replating onto the surface of aluminium. This observation has often been made on 2024-T3 alloys at a micrometric scale, at the interface between the aluminium-rich matrix and the intermetallic particles, as well as at a more macroscopic scale, in the ...

Nuclear Factor I‐B Delays Liver Fibrosis by Inhibiting Chemokine Ligand 5 Transcription
This study identifies the transcription factor Nuclear Factor I‐B (NFIB) as a key suppressor of liver fibrosis. NFIB expression declines during hepatic stellate cell activation, and its overexpression reduces fibrosis in mice models. The mechanism involves NFIB directly repressing chemokine C─C motif ligand 5 (CCL5), thereby alleviating oxidative ...
