This Perspective highlights atom probe tomography as a powerful tool for understanding the atomic‐scale defect chemistry in HfO2‐based ferroelectrics. 3D mapping of dopants, point defects, and interface chemistry can provide new insight into defect‐driven mechanisms underpinning the ferroelectricity in the system and guide the design of more reliable ...

Eliminating Scattering Loss in Anomalously Reflecting Optical Metasurfaces
Emerging gradient metasurfaces represent a new class of diffraction optical components. Through elaborate engineering of planar arrangements of subwavelength optical antennas, metasurfaces are capable of imparting arbitrary phase profiles on to the incident light, thereby enabling devices such as holograms, complex lenses, and beam splitters.

Anomalous Transport Theory for Toroidal Helical Plasmas [PDF]
Anomalous transport coefficients in toroidal helical plasmas are studied, based on the innovative theoretical method. The self-sustained turbulence is analyzed by balancing the nonlinear growth due to the current diffusivity with the nonlinear damping ...

This study develops a tunable n‐OSC hydrogel (PBFDO‐PAAc) platform with a tunable porous network and thermoelectric properties. It demonstrates the first report of n‐OSC hydrogels for evaporation‐driven hydrovoltaic‐thermoelectric electricity generation as well as chemically dedoping‐mediated OECT working mode reconfiguration. This work expands n‐OSCs’

Variability of water masses and circulation in the subtropical North Atlantic [PDF]
Observations of interannual variability in 18 Water (Talley and Raymer 1982) and Gulf Stream transport (Worthington 1977) motivate an ocean model sensitivity study. The North Atlantic circulation is simulated with a three-dimensional isopycnic coordinate

Non-Fermi-liquid behavior and anomalous suppression of Landau damping in layered metals close to ferromagnetism [PDF]
Financial support from the EPSRC (U.K.) under Grants No. EP/G03673X/1 (S. P. R.) and No. EP/I031014/1 (C. A. H.) is acknowledged. We analyze the low-energy physics of nearly ferromagnetic metals in two spatial dimensions using the functional ...

Charting Morphotoxicity With Complementary Embryo Models
Three human embryo models of the peri‐implantation stages are exposed to a library of compounds. The (toxic) effects of the compounds are analyzed through automated image analysis pipelines. By evaluating the differential responses of the embryo models, this study underscores the importance of testing complementary embryo models to achieve robust and ...
