Final report on the CERN muon storage ring including the anomalous magnetic moment and the electric dipole moment of the muon, and a direct test of relativistic time dilation [PDF]

open access: greenNuclear Physics B, 1979
Abstract A comprehensive description of the muon storage ring and its operation is given, and the final results of the experiment are presented and discussed. The anomalous magnetic moments of positive and negative muons are found to be aμ+ = 1165911(11) × 10−9 and aμ− = 1165937(12) × 10−9 giving an average value for muons of aμ = 1165924(8.5) × 10−9.

Measurement of the anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments of the tau lepton [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1998
Abstract We analyse e+e−→ττγ events using 100 pb −1 of data collected by the L3 experiment during the 1991-1995 LEP runs at the Z pole. From the energy of the photons and their isolation from the tau decay products, we determine the anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments of the tau to be, respectively: a τ =0.004±0 ...

Impact of Anomalous Active Regions on the Large-scale Magnetic Field of the Sun

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
One of the major sources of perturbation in the solar cycle amplitude is believed to be the emergence of anomalous active regions that do not obey Hale’s polarity law and Joy’s law of tilt angles.

Muon (g − 2) in the B-LSSM

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
The difference between the updated experimental result on the muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment and the corresponding theoretical prediction of the standard model on that is about 4.2 standard deviations. In this work, we calculate the muon anomalous

Electric and anomalous magnetic dipole moments of the muon in the MSSM [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2009
We study the electric dipole moment (EDM) and the anomalous magnetic dipole moment (MDM) of the muon in the CP-violating Minimal Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (MSSM). We take into account the contributions from the chargino- and neutralino-mediated one-loop graphs and the dominant two-loop Higgs-mediated Barr-Zee diagrams.

Study muon g − 2 at two-loop level in the U(1)XSSM

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
The new experiment data of muon g − 2 is reported by the workers at Fermilab National Accelerator Laboratory (FNAL). Combined with the previous Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) E821 result, the departure from the standard model prediction is about 4 ...

Systematic effects in the search for the muon electric dipole moment using the frozen-spin technique [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2023
At the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) we are developing a high precision instrument to measure the muon electric dipole moment (EDM). The experiment is based on the frozen-spin method in which the spin precession induced by the anomalous magnetic moment ...
