Mitochondrial genomes of the land hermit crab Coenobita clypeatus (Anomura: Paguroidea) and the mole crab Emerita talpoida (Anomura: Hippoidea) with insights into phylogenetic relationships in the Anomura (Crustacea: Decapoda)

Gene, 2023
The infraorder Anomura is a species-rich clade of decapod crustaceans recognized by its remarkable disparity in terms of morphology, anatomy, ecology, physiology, and behavior. This study assembled and characterized the complete mitochondrial genomes of two anomuran species, the hermit crab Coenobita clypeatus and the mole crab Emerita talpoida. The AT-

Chemical Ecology and Social Behavior of Anomura

2010
Anomura is an extremely diverse assemblage of crustacean decapods with a large variety of forms and lifestyles, which makes the taxon ideal for comparative studies of social systems and means of communication. Notwithstanding this, our knowledge of Anomura is mostly restricted to the crab–shell relationships in hermit crabs, whereas promising fields of

Infraorder Anomura MacLeay, 1838

2012
This chapter briefly discusses that the Infraorder Anomura Macleay, 1838. Anomura, of all the decapod infraorders, has had a particularly unstable taxonomic history, with groups such as the dromiacean crabs and the thalassinidean shrimps being variously included and excluded over the years. The name for the group has also been vigorously debated.

XIV.—The Fæcal Pellets of the Anomura

Proceedings of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, 1933
As far back as 1678 Martin Lister, in his Historiæ Animalium Tractatus, has noted that, in the case of certain Molluscs, the fæces are of a regular form, and that their shape differs according to the species; he deduces from this that the intestine must show a corresponding difference in the various species.

An annotated and illustrated checklist of the porcelain crabs of Panama (Decapoda: Anomura)

Zootaxa, 2021
The present study is the first exhaustive checklist of porcelain crabs (Porcellanidae) distributed on the Pacific and Atlantic (Caribbean) coasts of Panama, based on literature records and material collected between 2006 and 2019. The Panamanian porcellanid fauna is currently composed of a total of 76 species, with 26 species reported from the ...
