White adipose tissue undergoes browning under endogenous and exogenous stimuli, primarily regulated by core molecules such as PRDM16 and UCP1. It exhibits a double‐edged sword effect in metabolic diseases and tumors: while mitigating metabolic disease impacts and suppressing early‐stage tumors through nutritional competition, it may accelerate cachexia

Prioritizing objectives to evaluate the environmental, economic and social impacts of biofuel in Spain [PDF]
A variety of opinions either in favour or against development of biofuels has risen in the last years related to the environmental, economic and social impacts that its diffusion could entail compared to petroleum. Although the EU, in general, and Spain,

Lyapunov exponents of cocycles over non-uniformly hyperbolic systems
We consider linear cocycles over non-uniformly hyperbolic dynamical systems. The base system is a diffeomorphism $f$ of a compact manifold $X$ preserving a hyperbolic ergodic probability measure $\mu$.

Hederagenin Attenuates Cardiac Remodeling by Targeting Phosphodiesterase 9A
ABSTRACT Background and Aim New therapeutic strategies for heart failure are urgently needed. The protective effects of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP)—protein kinase G (PKG) pathway on heart have been widely reported. Despite phosphodiesterase 9A (PDE9A) inhibitors combating cardiac remodeling, clinically available drugs are lacking. Hederagenin

Betulin Protects Against Cardiac Hypertrophy by Improving AMPK/Nrf2‐Dependent Mitochondrial Function
Betulin effectively mitigates pressure overload‐induced cardiac hypertrophy in both Ang II‐infused and TAC‐operated mice. Mechanistically, betulin activated AMPK phosphorylation, promoted Nrf2 nuclear translocation, and upregulated antioxidant genes (HO‐1 and NQO‐1), thereby restoring mitochondrial function in cardiomyocytes.
