Effects of severe hemorrhage on plasma ANP and glomerular ANP receptors

American Journal of Physiology-Regulatory, Integrative and Comparative Physiology, 1997
Atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) plays an important role in blood volume and electrolyte homeostasis in normovolemia and in hypervolemic states. The currently available information on the effects of hypovolemia on plasma ANP is contradictory. Moreover, possible regulation of ANP receptors during severe hemorrhagic hypovolemia has not been investigated.

Effect of chronic GH overproduction on cardiac ANP expression and circulating ANP levels

Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology, 1998
Sodium and water retention are common in acromegaly and upon GH administration. The underlying mechanisms, however, have not been clearly characterized as yet. Therefore, the aim of this study was to examine possible alterations of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP), an endogenous regulator of volume homeostasis, in response to chronic elevated GH.

Autoradiographic localizatio of [125I]-C-ANP compared to [125I]-ANP in rat tissue

Histochemistry, 1991
Whole-body autoradiography demonstrated the different distribution of [125I]-C-ANP and [125I]-ANP to rat tissues. Highest enrichment of radioactivity of both labelled peptides was found in the kidney. In some organs we found remarkable differences between [125I]-ANP and [125I]-C-ANP.

Atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP): a study of ANP and its mRNA in cardiocytes, and of plasma ANP levels in non-obese diabetic mice

Cell and Tissue Research, 1992
Atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) levels in cardiocytes and plasma were examined by using immunohistochemistry, electron microscopy, and radioimmunoassay in non-obese diabetic mice (NOD). Cardiocyte ANP mRNA expression was measured by the polymerase chain reaction method.

ANP 235

Drug and Therapeutics Bulletin, 1964
ANP 235, which has not yet been given an approved name, is sold in this country by Lloyd Anphar. It has been advertised in some of the medical press quite soberly but not very informatively, featuring eight ‘facts’. One of these is that the reference list now exceeds 150 publications.

Alpha-h-ANP is the only form of circulating ANP in humans.

FEBS letters, 1987
Alpha-human atrial natriuretic peptide (alpha-h-ANP) was purified to homogeneity from human plasma of healthy adults in a three-step procedure including immunoaffinity chromatography on immobilized monoclonal anti-alpha-h-ANP antibody (moab). A single peak of immunoreactivity was obtained after final reversed-phase HPLC and the amino acid sequence of ...
