Answer set programming unleashed!

open access: yes, 2018
Answer Set Programming faces an increasing popularity for problem solving in various domains. While its modeling language allows us to express many complex problems in an easy way, its solving technology enables their effective resolution.

SOSAc-Reasoner: An ASP inference engine for automatic IoT context knowledge generation

open access: yesSoftwareX
The SOSAc-Reasoner is a commonsense reasoning engine, implemented using Answer Set Programming. It is designed to automatically generate IoT context knowledge, representing the capabilities of system devices, from a simple smart scenario description. The

Clique-Width and Directed Width Measures for Answer-Set Programming

open access: yes, 2016
Disjunctive Answer Set Programming (ASP) is a powerful declarative programming paradigm whose main decision problems are located on the second level of the polynomial hierarchy. Identifying tractable fragments and developing efficient algorithms for such

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Properties of Answer Set Programming with Convex Generalized Atoms

open access: yes
In recent years, Answer Set Programming (ASP), logic programming under the stable model or answer set semantics, has seen several extensions by generalizing the notion of an atom in these programs: be it aggregate atoms, HEX atoms, generalized ...

Answer-Set Programming Encodings for Argumentation Frameworks

open access: yes, 2008
We present reductions from Dung's argumentation framework (AF) and generalizations thereof to logic programs under the answer-set semantics. The reduction is based on a fixed disjunctive datalog program (the interpreter) and its input which is only part ...

Synthesizing concurrent programs using answer set programming

open access: yes, 2011
We address the problem of the automatic synthesis of concurrent programs within a framework based on Answer Set Programming (ASP). Every concurrent program to be synthesized is specified by providing both the behavioural and the structural properties it ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Counting Answer Sets via Dynamic Programming

open access: yes, 2016
While the solution counting problem for propositional satisfiability (#SAT) has received renewed attention in recent years, this research trend has not affected other AI solving paradigms like answer set programming (ASP).

Probabilistic Answer Set Programming

open access: yes, 2012
Este trabalho introduz uma técnica chamada Answer Set Programming Probabilístico (PASP), que permite a modelagem de teorias complexas e a verificação de sua consistência em relação a um conjunto de dados estatísticos.
