Sizing of Safety Valves Using ANSYS CFX‐Flo®
Chemical Engineering & Technology, 2009AbstractThis work discusses the effect of the degree of fineness of the flow volume discretization and that of the turbulence model on the accuracy of reproduction of air mass flow rates in two safety valves using the CFD software ANSYS Flo®. Calculations show that the degree of fineness of the discretization is the decisive factor affecting the ...

Modelling of condensing steam flows in Laval nozzles with ANSYS CFX
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part A: Journal of Power and Energy, 2017The results of the International Wet Steam Modelling Project presented at the Wet Steam Conference in Prague in 2016 again gave rise to a discussion about the suitability of the flow solver ANSYS CFX for the prediction of spontaneous condensation. In this article, the main reason for the discrepancy between results obtained with CFX and measurement ...

This paper evaluates the thermohydraulic aspects of modeling multi-purpose container (MPC-31) with VVER-1000 spent nuclear fuel (SNF) during its long-term storage in HI-STORM container (designed by Holtec International). The paper describes the main approaches and assumptions applied for the development of correspondent ANSYS CFX model, as well as ...

Numerical analysis of the electric arc simulation using Ansys CFX
26th International Conference on Electrical Contacts (ICEC 2012), 2012The main focus of this work is to give an overview of the mathematical errors introduced by the temporal and spatial discretization in case of plasma simulations. Two standard models for the electric arc simulation have been used, for each of them a variation of the timestep and of the mesh density has been performed.

Evaluation of Wind Effects on High-Rise Buildings Using Ansys CFX
Journal of Engineering Research and Application, 2023Tall building is the growing pattern of cities, these buildings are highly vulnerable to wind loads. Wind load effects on the high-rise building can be found using wind tunnel testing and CFD tools. Wind tunnel facilities are limited all around the world, so CFD tools can be incorporated.

Fluid-solid interaction is a primary feature of cardiovascular flows. There is increasing interest in the numerical solution of these systems as the extensive computational resource required for such studies becomes available. One form of coupling is an external weak coupling of separate solid and fluid mechanics codes.

Study of PWR transients by coupling of ANSYS-CFX with a kinetic model
2020In this work, dynamic responses of a WWER-1000 reactor in reactivity insertions are studied using a coupling method. The ANSYS-CFX is implemented for thermal hydraulic study of the core and the point kinetic equation (PKE) is coupled as a FORTRAN subroutine.
