Broadband CP crossed‐stepped‐dipole antenna incorporating a cross slotted square patch

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation, 2019
A simple broadband circularly polarised (CP) crossed‐dipole antenna is proposed. The antenna is composed of two crossed‐strip dipoles with two stepped sections, which are connected by vacant‐quarter rings to realise CP radiation, and a parasitic cross ...

Multiband low-profile antenna for remote antenna unit picocell applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The design of a compact, low-profile antenna constructed from five wire-patch elements is investigated. For a fiber-radio system a critical design parameter is the isolation between two WLAN elements.

Wideband Circularly Polarized Ellipse Antenna Array with Gain Enhancement

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2018
In this paper, a wideband circularly polarized (CP) antenna element and array with gain enhancement are presented. The original antenna element adopts two orthogonal ellipse dipoles with end-loading pillars. In order to achieve a wide impedance bandwidth

Study on High Performance of MPI-Based Parallel FDTD from WorkStation to Super Computer Platform

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2012
Parallel FDTD method is applied to analyze the electromagnetic problems of the electrically large targets on super computer. It is well known that the more the number of processors the less computing time consumed.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

A 77GHz on-chip microstrip patch antenna with suppressed surface wave using EBG substrate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper presents the design of a patch antenna with suppressed surface waves by means of applying an electromagnetic band-gap structure. Establishing th e antenna on high dielectric substrate such as Silicon makes it possible to integrate the ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...
