Synthesis of Antenna Arrays and Parasitic Antenna Arrays with Mutual Couplings [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2012
A synthesis method to design multielement antennas with couplings is presented. The main objective is to perform a rigorous determination of the electromagnetic characteristics involved in the design, especially with arrays of moderate sizes. The aim is to conceive jointly and efficiently the antenna and the circuits to connect (feed distribution ...

A slot antenna array with low mutual coupling for use on small mobile terminals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In order to take full advantage of the benefits to be obtained by using MIMO techniques for mobile communications, it is necessary to use an antenna array which is both compact and also has low mutual coupling between ports.

Mutual Coupling in Antenna Arrays 2013

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2014
The invention of antenna arrays opened up the door for microwave sensing and communications. Most applications of antenna arrays are in the defense and wireless communications areas. The introduction of multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) concept in recent years has opened up further opportunities in that the system performance can be maintained with

Compensation for the mutual coupling in transmitting antenna arrays

open access: yes2016 IEEE Asia-Pacific Conference on Applied Electromagnetics (APACE), 2016
A numerical study is presented for the compensation of mutual coupling in antenna arrays. A Matlab code based on method of moments is used to find the compensated far field radiation patterns for non-identical and/or staggered wire antenna arrays. The isolated patterns for some antenna arrays when applicable are found using the principle of pattern ...

Mutual Coupling Reduction and Pattern Error Correction in a 5G Beamforming Linear Array Using CSRR

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
A four-element printed antenna array operating at 25-GHz frequency with complementary split ring resonator (CSRR) has been proposed for beamforming applications. The CSRR elements have been used to suppress the mutual coupling in the proposed array.

Mutual Coupling Suppression in Antenna Arrays Using Meandered Open Stub Filtering Technique

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2020
Multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) systems utilize multiple antenna elements to improve channel capacity and achieve higher data rates. The successful implementation of MIMO systems requires low mutual coupling between antenna elements to reduce ...

Investigation of Planar Isolators for Mutual Coupling Reduction in Two-Dimensional Microstrip Antenna Arrays

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2023
The design of isolators to reduce mutual coupling in large two-dimensional antenna arrays is complex and requires significant computational effort. This work attempts to alleviate this problem by applying different types of planar isolators in different ...

Mutual coupling compensation in small array antennas [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1990
A technique to compensate for mutual coupling in a small array is developed and experimentally verified. Mathematically, the compensation consists of a matrix multiplication performed on the received-signal vector. This, in effect, restores the signals as received by the isolated elements in the absence of mutual coupling.

Investigation of Designs for Tuning of Mutual Coupling and Operating Frequency in High-Power Slot Antenna Arrays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Today's congested frequency spectrum calls for frequency agile arrays and antennas that can avoid the interference of the myriad of RF sources, from satellites to amateur radio, that take up the same bandwidths.

Microsrip Ring Antennas Operating at Higher-Oder Modes for Mobile Communications [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
An experimental study of microstrip ring antennas suitable for use in mobile communication systems is presented. Conical radiated beams are generated by the TM(21) and TM(41) modes.
