Electromagnetic modelling of dielectric-filled waveguide antenna filter arrays

open access: yes, 2013
This paper presents electromagnetic simulation of dielectric-filled rectangular waveguide antenna filter arrays. Arrays of microstrip rectangular patch antennas are endwall coupled with waveguide feeds that incorporate E-planes filters via slots in the ...

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

A W‐band dual‐beam low side‐lobe level antenna with shared slotted waveguide arrays

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation, 2023
A W‐band dual‐beam low side‐lobe level antenna with a shared slotted waveguide radiating layer was designed by the authors. The proposed antenna consists of a symmetrical dual ports feed network layer located on two sides of the antenna, a novel shared ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...
