Antenna Calibration Methods for Antenna Factor Measurements
International Journal of Measurement Technologies and Instrumentation Engineering, 2012In the fields of electromagnetic interference and electromagnetic compatibility, it is important to measure the strength of the electric field originating from electric devices. For this purpose, knowledge of the antenna factor of a receiving antenna is necessary.

Antenna factors of dipole and monopole antennas
Proceedings of 20th Biennial Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements, 2002Antenna factors of dipole antennas in the frequency range 20 MHz to 600 MHz have been determined to an uncertainty of /spl plusmn/0.1 dB (95%CL) and of monopole antennas in the range 10 MHz to 100 MHz to an uncertainty of /spl plusmn/0.15 dB. This leads to an advance in the precision with which electric field strength of free-space signals can be ...

Calculable antenna factor of a biconical reference antenna
2011 IEEE International RF & Microwave Conference, 2011Calculable antenna is used as a reference antenna for antenna calibration to obtain accurate antenna factor. This paper focuses on calculable biconical antenna with low uncertainty. The proposed biconical antenna factor can be derived either by simulation or by analytical method. The antenna factor is directly derived from antenna gain.

The Correction of Antenna Factor
2007 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 2007The theoretical NSA values given by the standards are grounded on the assumption that transmit and receive antennas are infinitesimal dipole antennas which is inappropriate to measurements. That is. the assumption neglects: (1) antenna mutual coupling, (2) antenna factor variations versus height, and (3) differences between the H-plane directivities ...

Average of the Height-Dependent Antenna Factor
IEICE Transactions on Communications, 2005Theoretical analyses are carried out on the height dependence of the antenna factor of an EMI antenna to develop an antenna calibration method that can provide the free-space value of the antenna factor. It is found that the antenna factor in general varies with the antenna height in a quasi-periodic way with a period of about λ/2.
