Multifunctional Reflector Antenna Feeds
2006 16th International Crimean Microwave and Telecommunication Technology, 2006In this paper the design of multifunctional reflector antenna feeds and the methods for their radiation patterns calculation is considered. Reflector antennas (RA) have large gain factor and receive in radio relay, troposphere and satellite radio systems. Multifunctional RA must operate in several separated frequency bands (multiband), on linear and/or

Conical feed transparent antenna
2012 IEEE 27th Convention of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in Israel, 2012A transparent antenna using conical metallic feed is proposed. Characteristics of transparent conductive films are revised. It is verified that the sheet resistivity of a conductive transparent layer differs significantly from that of a metallic (copper) layer with a thickness equal to the penetration depth.

Additive manufacturing of antenna-feed chains
2017 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Workshop Series on Advanced Materials and Processes for RF and THz Applications (IMWS-AMP), 2017This paper reports on the additive manufacturing of waveguide components and subassemblies for antenna-feed chains operating in the Ku, K and Ka bands. The aim of the activity is the monolithic manufacturing of an entire dual-band antenna-feed chain working in K-Ka bands.

Direct feed biconical antenna as a reference antenna
2011 IEEE International RF & Microwave Conference, 2011Antenna factor is the main parameter in EMC measurement. Therefore, accurate and low uncertainty antenna is important in order to gain a reliable antenna factor. Direct feed biconical antenna has low uncertainty because balun can be eliminated in the design. Furthermore, the biconical antenna has fix phase center.

In a quasi-optical antenna system, it makes little difference, so far as the illumination characteristics of the feed are concerned, whether the collimating device is reflective (i.e. single or multiple mirrors) or refractive (i.e. a lens). In either case it is the function of the feed to provide a radiation pattern which is largely confined to the ...

Feed network for antenna decoupling
2009 Loughborough Antennas & Propagation Conference, 2009A decoupling network for improving the isolation between two highly coupled antennas is proposed. In this method the input signals are combined linearly so that the mutual coupling between the ports becomes zero. The scattering matrix of the network is found using a mathematical procedure and has been demonstrated in this paper for a previously ...

Simulated corrugated feed horn antenna
International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation Society, Merging Technologies for the 90's, 1990A technique for developing a new type of feed horn with the same radiation characteristics as a metallic corrugated horn is presented. This horn antenna with low back and sidelobe levels can be used as a substitute for a metallic corrugated horn with added advantages of high gain, low cross polarization, low cost, and light weight.

Transparent antenna with conical feed
2013 IEEE International Conference on Microwaves, Communications, Antennas and Electronic Systems (COMCAS 2013), 2013An equation for the current along a transparent radiator is written and solved. Based on this solution the current distribution along the radiator axis is analyzed. It is shown that the current decays abruptly along the radiator. For this reason the transmitted signal depends weakly on the radiator length.

Feed optimization in multi-feed antennas
WESCON/57 Conference Record, 1957The problem of attaining close beam spacing and high crossover levels in multi-beam antennas is discussed with attention directed toward the mutual effects of the several feeds. A series of measured curves is used to present the mutual coupling effects on the primary feed patterns.
