In the present discussion covering the most important types, those aspects which are of particular practical interest to the designer will be covered, emphasising available options and including references to the latest advances in feed design. For the sake of descriptive economy and consistency, it will be assumed, unless otherwise stated, that the ...

Terahertz antennas present a different set of challenges to the antenna designer typically striving for very high performance while at the very limit of the chosen fabrication process. Many of the same design techniques used at lower frequencies are still applied, but fabrication constraints impose significant limitations on the type of structure that ...

Abstract : This study of the transverse focal region of a spherical reflector includes theoretical analyses centered on geometric optics, on vector polarization and on diffraction integrals of physical optics and their evaluation by the method of stationary phase. The results of the numerical evaluation of the focal region field for an incoming wave of

Characterization of tapered slot antenna feeds and feed arrays
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1990A class of feed antennas and feed antenna arrays used in the focal plane of paraboloid reflectors and exhibiting higher than normal levels of cross-polarized radiation in the diagonal planes is addressed. A model which allows prediction of element gain and aperture efficiency of the feed/reflector system is presented.

A multi-feed antenna for antenna-level power combining
2016 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (APSURSI), 2016This paper proposes a multi-feed antenna structure that synthesizes the desired radiation characteristics with antenna-level power combining. Compared with an antenna array that spatially combines the radiation E-field and H-field at the far-field, the proposed multi-feed antenna combines the radiation power from different feeds directly on the antenna.

Orthomode Transducers With Folded Double-Symmetry Junctions for Broadband and Compact Antenna Feeds [PDF]
Orthomode transducers (OMTs) using folded six-port waveguide junctions are presented for obtaining the maximum compactness in antenna feeds with very wide performance. The proposed junctions are based on the well-known turnstile and Boifot configurations,
