Feed optimization in multi-feed antennas
WESCON/57 Conference Record, 1957The problem of attaining close beam spacing and high crossover levels in multi-beam antennas is discussed with attention directed toward the mutual effects of the several feeds. A series of measured curves is used to present the mutual coupling effects on the primary feed patterns.

In a quasi-optical antenna system, it makes little difference, so far as the illumination characteristics of the feed are concerned, whether the collimating device is reflective (i.e. single or multiple mirrors) or refractive (i.e. a lens). In either case it is the function of the feed to provide a radiation pattern which is largely confined to the ...

Proximity feed microstrip antenna
Electronics and Communications in Japan (Part I: Communications), 1986AbstractThe proximity feed microstrip antenna (PMA) fed via a gap enables switching of the polarization with a simple operation of opening or shorting the end of the feed. However, since the PMA is coupled electromagnetically with the feed line printed on the same surface as the antenna, the effect of the feed line on the antenna characteristics is ...

IEE Proceedings - Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation, 2003
A new dual feed antenna element is presented, consisting of a single antenna element with two matched and isolated ports. Matching, bandwidth, and losses are comparable to a standard dipole. The radiation patterns are highly omnidirectional with linear polarisation. The antenna can be implemented both with and without a groundplane.

Transparent antenna with conical feed
2013 IEEE International Conference on Microwaves, Communications, Antennas and Electronic Systems (COMCAS 2013), 2013An equation for the current along a transparent radiator is written and solved. Based on this solution the current distribution along the radiator axis is analyzed. It is shown that the current decays abruptly along the radiator. For this reason the transmitted signal depends weakly on the radiator length.

Conical feed transparent antenna
2012 IEEE 27th Convention of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in Israel, 2012A transparent antenna using conical metallic feed is proposed. Characteristics of transparent conductive films are revised. It is verified that the sheet resistivity of a conductive transparent layer differs significantly from that of a metallic (copper) layer with a thickness equal to the penetration depth.

A Quadband Antenna With Reconfigurable Feedings
IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2009A compact inverted-F antenna (IFA) with switchable feeds is proposed in this letter. The antenna occupies a relatively small volume of 50 times 7 times 7 mm3. Two pin diodes are used to switch the antenna between two different working states. The antenna can provide the required bands of GSM850 (824-894 MHz), GSM900 (890-960 MHz), DCS (1710-1880 MHz ...

Dielectric Feeds for Reflector Antennas
1975 5th European Microwave Conference, 1975Special dielectric antennas used as elements for a feed of multi-beam or limited-scan reflector antennas have been developed. As a result of the close arrangement of the feed elements, their cross-sectional dimensions must be small and their mutual coupling should be as low as possible.

Linear-array antennas and feeds
1984The problems and techniques of linear-array design have been divided in this chapter into three general parts. The first concerns itself with general pattern theory, that is, the relation between the far-zone pattern of an array and the amplitude and phase distribution among the elements and their spacing; in this section no attention is paid to the ...
