Field and Temperature Gradients from Short Conductors in a Dissipative Medium
This paper considers the specific absorption rate (SAR) in tissue of radiofrequency (RF) energy and temperature increases produced by RF currents on short conductors (0.03–0.1λ).

Planar microstrip YAGI antenna array [PDF]
A directional microstrip antenna includes a driven patch surrounded by an isolated reflector and one or more coplanar directors, all separated from a ground plane on the order of 0.1 wavelength or less to provide end fire beam directivity without ...

High Entropy Wide‐Bandgap Borates with Broadband Luminescence and Large Nonlinear Optical properties
High‐entropy rare‐earth borates exhibit excellent nonlinear optical and broadband luminescence properties arising from multi‐component doping, chemical disorder, increased configurational entropy, and increased lattice and electronic anharmonicity. This formulation enabled us to obtain a large, environmentally stable single crystal with 3X higher laser‐

A Wideband, Four-Element, All-Digital Beamforming System for Dense Aperture Arrays in Radio Astronomy [PDF]
Densely-packed, all-digital aperture arrays form a key area of technology development required for the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) radio telescope. The design of real-time signal processing systems for digital aperture arrays is currently a central ...

This thesis describes the development of a log-periodic waveguide feed antenna from concept to design and finally to prototyping and testing. An electromagnetic simulator (CST) was used to evaluate different design concepts and a design based on a nested coaxial waveguide structure was selected.

Dicarboxylate‐modified anionic hairy cellulose nanocrystals exhibit a high selectivity for dysprosium(III) over neodymium(III). This selectivity arises from disordered dicarboxylate cellulose “hairs” that enable cooperative ionic coordination, hydrogen bonding, and strain‐induced conformational shrinkage.

An Absolute Flux Density Measurement of the Supernova Remnant Casseopia A at 32 GHz [PDF]
We report 32 GHz absolute flux density measurements of the supernova remnant Cas A, with an accuracy of 2.5%. The measurements were made with the 1.5-meter telescope at the Owens Valley Radio Observatory. The antenna gain had been measured by NIST in May

Dual‐Ligand Metal‐Organic Frameworks via In Situ Amidoxime Engineering for Selective Ion Separation
Inspired by microbial ion‐trapping mechanisms, a mild and universal strategy is developed to construct highly porous amidoxime‐functionalized MOFs. DFT calculations and molecular force measurements reveal that the dual‐ligand amidoxime configuration significantly strengthens Ga(III) affinity.
