Radiation pattern synthesis for a prolate spheroidal antenna
2017 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation & USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2017An antenna is designed consisting of axial surface currents on a prolate spheroidal metallic surface. The dual orthogonality of the prolate spheroidal wave functions is utilized to synthesize a far field radiation pattern which best approximates a desired far field pattern for a given arbitrary superdirective ratio.

Radiation pattern of cylindrical‐wraparound chirostrip antennas
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 1999In this paper, a cylindrical-wraparound microstrip antenna flush mounted to the upper surface of a chiral substrate is analyzed. The chiral substrate is wrap fabricated around a conducting core cylinder. Dyadic Green's functions for such a cylindrical structure are formulated in terms of cylindrical vector wave eigenfunctions.

A reconfigurable radiation pattern metamaterial-inspired antenna

The structure consists of simple split resonator (SRR) loaded with two open circuits and introduced into the near field region of a monopole antenna. Two configurations are studied by considering the state of the open circuits.
