Radiation Pattern Computation of Microstrip Antennas
IETE Technical Review, 1999The electromagnetic field radiation pattern of microstrip antenna for single rectangular patch as well as for multiple patches are determined. Green's function approach is used for analysis in which a patch is assumed to be made up of a number of Hertz dipoles.

Radiation pattern analysis of reflector antennas
Electronics and Communications in Japan (Part I: Communications), 1985AbstractA method is proposed for accurately calculating the radiation pattern of reflector antennas in the entire angular range from the main beam direction to the off axis region. The principle of the method is similar to the physical optics diffraction theory, and consists of the result obtained by conventional physical optics corrected with the ...

Metamaterial patch antenna radiation pattern agility
Applied Physics A, 2013In this paper we address the introduction of antenna’s radiation pattern agility using an agile metamaterial. We design an agile metamaterial having two different behaviors which can be controlled by an external command. This agile metamaterial is used to design an agile lens which comprises two grids each composed of two regions: the first one ...

Antenna-on-Chip radiation pattern characterization
2019Millimeter-wave antenna measurements severely rely on the use of on-wafer probes. For an Antenna-on-chip (AoC), due to the tiny size of the chip (1~2 mm2), the radiation pattern will still be influenced when the probe tip is near the AoC under test (AUT).

Radiation pattern control in microstrip antennas
Proceedings of 1996 Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2002The far field radiation from a microstrip antenna is investigated numerically. Such an antenna has several electrical and geometrical parameters that can be used in shaping its radiation patterns. Among these the ground plane size and shape have the least effect on the antenna circuit parameters and may be used as the controlling parameters.

Recording of dynamic antenna radiation patterns
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1973A concept is presented for recording antenna radiation patterns as functions of two parameters simultaneously. An implementation of the technique results in a significant savings in the measurement time required to document antenna performance as a function of the particular pair of parameters of interest.

Compact Antenna with Unidirectional Radiation Patterns
12th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP 2018), 2018A compact rectangular folded antenna for WBAN applications is presented in this paper. The Theory of Characteristic Modes (TCM) has been applied to understand the radiation mechanism of this kind of antenna, and to identify the radiating modes that are excited. This in-depth knowledge of the radiation mechanisms given by TCM has allowed the design of a

Radiation Pattern Synthesis for Broadcast Antennas
IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting, 1972Two computer programs that can be used for the synthesis of radiation patterns of linear and planar arrays are described. The programs are listed in the Appendix and were written for the GE-645 computer, in Fortran IV language, and in a time-sharing mode.

Controlling Radiation Pattern of Spherical Antenna
2006 16th International Crimean Microwave and Telecommunication Technology, 2006Presented in this paper are the results of theoretical and experimental research of irradiation shift influence on radiation pattern. Scanning limits of antenna beam are determined. Some recommendations for scanning spherical antennas design are given.

Torus nano-antenna: Enhanced field and radiation pattern
2009 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2009This work presents numerical investigations for the performance of a torus nano-antenna using the method of moments. Plane waves of parallel and perpendicular polarizations, with respect to the plane of the torus, are used in excitation. Two noble metals, gold and silver, are considered in this work.
