Numerical investigation on compact multimode dielectric resonator antennas of very high permittivity [PDF]
Two well known numerical techniques, the Finite Element Method (FEM) and the Finite Integration in Time Domain (FIT), have been applied to study a low volume high permittivity dielectric resonator antenna.

Antenna subset selection at multi‐antenna relay with adaptive modulation
ABSTRACTIn this paper, we proposed several antenna selection schemes for cooperative diversity systems with adaptive transmission. The proposed schemes were based on dual‐hop relaying where a relay with multiple‐antenna capabilities at reception and transmission is deployed between the source and the destination nodes.

Optimal Cooperative MAC Protocol with Efficient Selection of Relay Terminals [PDF]
A new cooperative protocol is proposed in the context of wireless mesh networks. The protocol implements ondemand cooperation, i.e. cooperation between a source terminal and a destination terminal is activated only when needed.

Hidden Antennas for Vehicles [PDF]
The introduction of new telematics and broadcast systems into vehicles has led to a requirement for multiple antennas that can be hidden from view.

Joint Waveform Optimization and Antenna Position Selection for MIMO Radar Beam Scanning
In this study, under the Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR), energy, and binary (for antenna position selection) constraints, we proposed an antenna position selection and beam scanning method for colocated Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) radar ...

α‐Synuclein aggregation landscape from phase separation to neurotoxic intermediates
Alpha‐synuclein aggregation in Parkinson's disease involves a complex landscape of transient intermediates, including oligomers, fibrils and liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS). A view is emerging in which LLPS maturation into solid‐like condensates may contribute to the formation of neurotoxic species.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Antenna selection diversity for IEEE 802.11p [PDF]
Dependable vehicular communications systems are a key requirement for the implementation of intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Multiple antenna receivers enable the utilization of spatial diversity to increase the reliability as well as improve the availability.
