Anterior uveitis is the most common form of uveitis. There are several known and many possible etiologies for anterior uveitis. After examining the posterior segment and ruling out masquerade syndromes, the main step of etiologic diagnosis is clinical characterization. Anterior and low anterior resection
World Journal of Surgery, 1982AbstractThe various definitions of anterior and low anterior resection are outlined. The operative technique for performance of both and their perioperative management are described. Operative mortality in 157 patients operated on from 1973 to March 31, 1982, was 4.5% (7 of 157 patients) and had decreased to 1.9% (2 of 107 patients) within the last 5 ...

✓ Eighteen cases of anterior encephalocele treated at the University of Malaya Hospital between 1970 and 1980 are discussed, and the literature concerning this defect is reviewed. A detailed analysis of the microscopic abnormalities present in the surgical specimens is included, along with the relevant radiographic and demographic data.

The optic nerve within the optic canal, the parophthalmic segment of the carotid artery, and the oculomotor nerve in the superior orbital fissure all lay against the anterior clinoid process. Bone resection uncovers these structures. For extradural resection of the anterior clinoid process and surrounding bone, two key steps are recommended: bony ...

The anterior ankle impingement syndrome is a clinical pain syndrome that is characterized by anterior ankle pain on (hyper) dorsiflexion. The plain radiographs often are negative in patients who have anteromedial impingement. An oblique view is recommended in these patients.

Sixty five children with anterior encephaloceles were retrospectively studied for clinical presentation, radiological findings, surgery and outcome. They were sampled over a 22 years period (Jan 1973-Dec 1994). Only 6 children were above 10 years of age. Naso-ethmoid type was the most frequent type, encountered in 45 patients.

Simple anterior orbitotomy is one of the popular surgical procedures through the orbital cavity. In this approach no bony orbitotomy is required so very satisfactory cosmetic results should be achieved. The authors of this paper report on three patients with space-occupying lesions in orbital cavity which were operated by anterior orbitotomy techniques

With improvements in molecular diagnostics tests, viruses are increasingly being found to be associated with what was previously described as idiopathic anterior uveitis. This review presents the clinical features of viral anterior uveitis.Herpes simplex virus/varicella zoster virus (HSV/VZV) are important causes of anterior uveitis, but other viruses ...
