Cubital Tunnel Syndrome: Anterior Transposition With Epicondylar Osteotomy

Orthopedics, 1986
ABSTRACT: In this article we reviewed nine consecutive patients operated on for cubital tunnel syndrome. They underwent a modification of the Learmonth procedure in which a medial epicondyle osteotomy was performed. The dissection was completed within intermuscular tissue planes to allow the ulnar nerve to be transposed submuscularly.

Simple Decompression of the Ulnar Nerve: An Alternative to Anterior Transposition

Journal of Hand Surgery, 1992
Anterior transposition and/or medial epicondylectomy are often considered procedures of choice for ulnar neuropathy at the elbow. Much experience suggests simple decompression to be a comparably effective alternative which involves less trauma, morbidity, and rehabilitation time.

Myectomy versus anterior transposition for inferior oblique overaction

Journal of American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, 2007
Inferior oblique overaction can be either secondary (as a sequela of ipsilateral superior oblique palsy) or primary (commonly associated with horizontal strabismus). Superior oblique underaction often coexists with both primary and secondary inferior oblique overaction.

Anterior submuscular transposition of the ulnar nerves by the Learmonth technique

The Journal of Hand Surgery, 1982
Thirty-eight patients with progressive posttraumatic ulnar neuropathy at the elbow underwent anterior submuscular transposition of their nerves. Multiple mechanical causes of neuropathy were identified. Fourteen patients had undergone previous surgery for ulnar neuropathy, while 24 had not. Postsurgical follow-up averaged 23.1 months.
