Abstract Glycogen was extracted from the boll weevil, Anthonomus grandis Boheman, with 5% trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and with cold chlorofomr-glycine buffer (cold water extraction). Glucose was the only sugar detected in acid hydrolyzates.
