Intramolecular Nickel‐Catalyzed Reductive Coupling: Enantioselective Synthesis of Tetrahydroisoquinolines and Related Heterocycles

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The successful extension of the nickel‐catalyzed asymmetric coupling of polarized 1,3‐dienes with aldehydes to an intramolecular setting opens an efficient new entry into hydroxylated N‐heterocyclic compounds, most notably valuable tetrahydroisoquinolines.

Synthesis of 7-thia-1,4,6,8-tetraazabenzo[de]anthracenes

open access: yes, 2018
New polyheterocyclic ensembles of 8,9,10,11-tetrahydro-7-thia-1,4,6,8-tetraazabenzo[de]anthracenes were prepared by reaction of easily available 5Н-pyrido[2’,3’:2,3]thiopyrano[4,5-b]pyridines with Ас2О or acyl chlorides.

Nonvolatile liquid anthracenes for facile full-colour luminescence tuning at single blue-light excitation

open access: yesNature Communications, 2013
Nonvolatile room-temperature luminescent molecular liquids are a new generation of organic soft materials. They possess high stability, versatile optical properties, solvent-free fluid behaviour and can effectively accommodate dopant dye molecules.

Ambiphilic Ligand Stabilization of Aluminum(I) Fragments: Halides, Cations, and a Hydride

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Stabilization of elusive aluminum(I) halides in the framework of an ambiphilic ligand is reported. The unique bonding situation at the trigonal‐bipyramidal aluminum center is analyzed, and the coordination chemistry and Al(I)Br transfer reactivity of the complexes are presented.

Proposal for Sets of 77Se NMR Chemical Shifts in Planar and Perpendicular Orientations of Aryl Group and the Applications

open access: yesBioinorganic Chemistry and Applications, 2006
The orientational effect of p-YC6H4 (Ar) on δ(Se) is elucidated for ArSeR, based on experimental and theoretical investigations. Sets of δ(Se) are proposed for pl and pd employing 9-(arylselanyl)anthracenes (1) and 1-(arylselanyl)anthraquinones (2 ...

One Molecular Platform, Three Distinct Narrowband Organoboron TADF Emitters: A Divergent One‐Pot Strategy From Green to Red

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
One platform–three emitters: Divergent one‐pot borylation of a single indolocarbazole platform exploits competing mono‐ and double‐borylation pathways to generate three spectrally distinct organoboron MR‐TADF emitters spanning green to red, enabling color‐tunable narrowband OLEDs with external quantum efficiencies over 30%.

Fluorescence quenching of meso-substituted anthracenes by electron acceptors

open access: yes, 2017
The fluorescence quenching of some meso-susbstituted anthracenes was studied using organic acceptors as quenchers. The quenching process does not obey the Stern-Volmer relation and both medium viscosity and temperature effects indicate that static ...
